  • try a better capacitor. there is a lot of loss from corona on the cap. i would try a 2 smooth plates about an inch apart suspended in oil (try more plats for more capacitance and further apart it is still arks )

  • so cool :D

  • Please tell me how to tune the tesla coil to produce maximum length of arc?

  • @anirbankar21 to tune a tesla coil you have to have the primary inductor and capacitor generating the same frequency as the secondary inductor and capacitor. Inductive and capacitive reactances need to match in each part.

  • @TechnoW1zard Can I do it by adjusting the spark gap?

  • nice

  • @tesladude19 i know it would be alot of work but could you do a tutorial on how to make a small tesla coil even some helpful pointers would be nice.

  • can u please show a vid on how to make this

  • please show a video on how to make this

  • Diameter and length off the main coil tube and what size wire and how many turns? what voltage did you turn it with?

  • plzz can u MAKE IT STEP BY STEP????

  • can you make a video on how to make a mini tesla coil please!!!

  • UAUH!!!!! AMAZING! WHY DON´T YOU ELECTROCUTE WHEN YOU TOUCH IT??!!!! THAT COULD PRODUCE ABOUT 25000-50000 V. HOW DO YOU DO IT?

AAAH. A QUESTION... WHAT DID YOU USE FOR THE MAIN SOURCE OF THE ENERGY? IT´S A 12V BATTERY ???

  • @VloquendoV You couldn't run that on a 12 volt battery EVER lol its run with a small transformer.

  • looks like your toroid is a tad small, The corona discharges from the top pats of the coil.

  • So is a tesla coil really just a glorified spark gap with the ground?

  • @Kelarre653 not even lose really...lol...its a tuned air core resonance transformer, it will spark to air without the ground next to it....i honestly cant remember if i showed it in this video or not

  • whats the shematic

  • @Electrikid221MnM if you were willing to do the work yourself you would use google

  • @tesladude19 nope i already made a tesla coil, i just wondered

  • @tesladude19 i just wondered i already have my own tesla coil i made i just wanted to see if there were any tweaks i could make to my tesla coil because i can never ever get sparks like that even at almost perfect resonance

  • @Electrikid221MnM hmm, well i cant be of any help till i know the specs of your coil AND can see a pic of your setup

  • Sorry for asking again but I want to know how you were able to make one that you can actually touch, because most of the ones I find you burn hole through your finger if you touch it.

  • @Gert10k its such a lower power coil, that you are able to touch it :)

  • how great would a flyback be because i cant get nst's(i live in the uk and i am a highschool kid)

  • @coolaidkiller101 Well you could use a flyback, the only problem is, is that you cant charge the capacitor with high frequency AC. You would have to get some high voltage diodes, they're not to hard to come by, you can even make them by stringing many diodes in series. you can find out anything you need by using google, and i suggest you start there, as me explaining it to you wont help you learn on your on :) good luck

  • @tesladude19 What an arrogant little plebe. You take pleasure in rudely directing your viewers to Google or saying that certain diodes aren't hard to come by... The people were asking YOU. They weren't asking in opes of being told that explaining it to them won't help them learn on their own, as if you hold some special god-like knowledge over them. Get over yourself. YOU posted the video of this crude little toy; it's not out of the question that you'd be asked regarding it's specifics. Dolt.

  • @classclown555 first off, i do not take pleasure in it, its rather annoying. im sick of people asking how to build things when a quick google search will tell them more than they need to know, and the diodes thing, uhm, 1N4937, or better yet the UF4007 diodes are very easy to get from Newark, or Digi-Key, or Jameco, etc. etc...so lay off jackass

  • flyback or nst and what spec

  • @coolaidkiller101 I used a 9kv NST

  • tesladude19 I know it's not entirely real but hey you can't blame me for trying it is a small as it gets and has actual current

  • I know how to make a mini one. You take an igniter from a lighter and use a small metal ball and a structure and your done

  • @McCloud3211 uhhmmm yeah totally different from this buddy....and that wouldnt really work too well...

  • How did you make it?

  • @Gert10k if you google "tesla coil" you will find all kinds of things on the subject including how to make one :)

  • Beautiful!

  • @crusiatusblack THANKS!!!

  • lol so it just tingles your finger? super fast sparking purple lights always look scary haha. nice build man, I still dont understand how to make my own yet. I really want to build a mini one.

  • can you touch it?

  • @SwanzSkate He does touches it at about 1:58

  • very very beautiful

  • cool :D wish I was smart!

  • I am so jealous :( I wish I coul build a Tesla Coil. But I'm a girl and I don't know much about electricity.

  • Dont be jealous, go out, figure a little something about electricity, and go build one! it is really very simple!

  • Well done.

I had limited sucess with secondaries 1 inch or less.

    A very neat arrangement

  • really nice little coil
