Of course the meansurments used to measure poverty are the same as they were in the 60s not adjusted for inflation, if the stas where adjusted for inflation and everyting else, roguht 25-30% of the people woudl be in poverty. But that still doesn't make a clrea majority like 60-70-80% in many other countries. BUT in the first world gap between haves and have nots in the US is the widest of any "1st world" nation.
