  • I can't comprehend Jimmy's genius no matter how I try, I can't believe it's possible to play in such a way. Pure genius.

  • This is Led Zeppelin Live in Southampton, England right?

  • @RockerForLife74 No, its from New York MSG

  • @JimmyPage360 I remember the sound quality being better than this. I'm guessing the rendering fucked it up. No prob, my bad :)

  • Page is supernatural

  • ACTUALLY THIS IS a solo which he often uses live in "Immigrant Song"...

Listen to Immigrant Song in How the West was Won...

Its so goddamn similar... Maybe jimmy likes quoting his own solos from someother songs... For instance he usually implements phrases from Tea for One into Since I've Been Loving You solos live.

  • Jonesy is so funky here! JPJ is the man ;)

  • The bass is awesome! tight.

  • The best version of the OTHAFA solo I have heard is from the 1973 bootleg 'Where the Zeppelin Roam'. Jimmy almost blows Buffalo off of the map.

  • @kingdominium that is sweet. you may have been blessed =)

  • @JimmyPage360 i can Terry Kath is greatest. He invented free form guitar man, and btw jimi hendrix SAID Terry Was the greatest himself.

  • @SharingonMadara I'm going to have to check this out

  • @SharingonMadara isn't he da dude from Chicago?

  • @kjgoya777

    Ten to the dozen?

  • Love the slide show. Love the solo! Jimmy Page king of the solo.

  • I have 2 say it....he is going ten 2 the dozen on this solo....he is improvising nicely 2...

  • Listen 2 his structuring and how Bonham and JPJ balance out his playing...LISTEN!

  • @kingdominium LUCKY MONTHER FUCKER

  • Jimmy Rulez!!

  • great pictures ! JIMMY PAGE IS BETTER THAN HENDRIX FOR FUCK SAKE

PAGEY IS GOD ! i hate to preech but i must say it pagey is the lord on earth

  • Make it muscians not just guitarist..SORRY I DEBATED! lol jok....sorry im stupid...

  • Malmsteem is a better guitarist than Page or Hendrix

  • Lol....your opinion

  • @tannerblevins BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!

  • @tannerblevins there would be no malmsteen with out them, Speed is not everything. innovation is

  • @zoso522 Hm. Awkward.

  • True. To me, Page and Hendrix are up here. Everyone else, as talented as they are and as much as I love most of them, are down there. Well, there are others who are pretty high up though. Like Satriani and plenty others. But you're right about Hendrix. He was one of a kind and there will never be another one like him. Will there ever be one as good as him? It's possible... But not like him.

  • 1:27 he is thinking *I Got This*

  • identical with the solo from TSRTS cd...is this it?!?!?!?!

  • Well, I think this night is used for this song on the CD. But you can be sure jimmy did some cutting and pasting.

  • LOL! You got that right brother!

  • Jimmy's the master of 'feel' , energy , and emotion. All these "technique'" guys and Jazz-fusion dorks like Beck are soulless wankers in my book. Its no coincidence that Post-Yardbirds , Pagey created the beast that was Led Zeppelin while Jeff Beck mostly worked on cars.

  • Listen to Jeff Beck's 'A day in the life'

    beautiful.

  • you sir Jimmy Page are a GOD!!!

    =]

  • 1 jimmy page

    2 jimmy page

    3 jimmy page

    4 jimmy page

    5 maybe angus young

  • no hendrix? =[

  • hell ya

  • I'd add Hendrix to that list though. I mean, come on!

  • Hahaha That's disgusting

  • im gonna merry you jimmy

  • jimmy page is god and anyone who doesnt agree is a fag

  • if hes a god, what is ro buchanan then?

  • santa?

  • i was thinking more along the lines of superman or sumfin lmao

  • gods cooler than superman tho... same with santa, superman wears tights, and saves girls BUT NEVER HAS SEX WITH THEM, like wtf

  • yeh lmao do u liek roy buchanan btw duude? wbxxx

  • @sauter25 He is NOT God! He is Jimmy friggen Page. My fav guitar player for sure. I thank God that Jimmy is not God! Jimmy is not The almighty no matter how kewl Jim is. Jimmy does not provide for me air, water or food nor does he give the gift of eternal life. He does however rock!

  • omg god do you know how hard that is to do

  • eh...its not so much that its 'hard' to do, but what amazes me is how much soul he puts into playing it. you know like nebody can hit notes (btw, fuck you shredders!) but something about his playing style just excites me but at the same time puts me at complete peace + meditation.

  • yeah im trying to get my hands on this type of emotional soul puting in playing guitar just like this, i mean... your right anyone can shred but i'm trying to get my feelings through the guitar... jimmy page and steve clark is what it's all about

  • Its not somthing you can develop, you either have it or yout don't. You don't know if you have it only other people can tell.

  • yeah, your right i didn't look at it that way ! I approve !

  • little bit meaty for jimmy. sounds diff than a lot of his stuff

  • dude jimmy page is freaking amazing

  • I Love this version. Jimmy's absolutely the best.

  • Bootlegs from the MSG dates in 73' are like goldust, where did you find this?

  • obviously i already tried that. found great bootleg archives but what i was trying to ask was do you know of any websites where you can download bootlegs for free, and what is the url? cos all the sites i found on google you couldn't download anything it was just a list of album names and songs

  • where/how do you get these bootleg recordings?

  • Various places ;)

  • haha fuck you that doesn't help me in my quest!

  • Google it.

  • I love the solo in this song. My personal favorite is from "Listen to This Eddie" 7-21-77 I believe?

  • "Listen to...." was actually recorded on 6/21/77, the first of a six night stand at the LA Forum.

The one on "Deep Striker" (6/27/77 Last night in LA) totally spanks the Listen to this eddie version.

    Haha.

  • Close enough. There are a few subtleties I like in LTTE.

  • the best over the hills solo i have ever heard was in 2 12 1975... it was way longer but this is my definate number 2 its fantastic

  • hes played so many great solos its impossible to say his best so.

  • my favorite solo of Page is Dazed and Confused personally. Check out my video of page. interesting stuff there.

  • yeah, that solo is bloody great. he just improvised it, right?

  • kinda, that's not really that close overall to the studio version, but im sure he could still do the same thing right now if he had to, that's why he's the best imo

  • it is improvised, but within the context of the song. Its not like every single musical idea that he played in this solo was thought of right then. He had layed solos like this before, and continued to play them in the future. Each one was different, but they were based on the same riffs and thigns.

  • I do the same thing. First I'll write out a whole solo. Practice it. Then when I want to go and improvise a solo I'll play only certain parts of the stuff I made up in advanced because it sounds cool. And it gives the solo for that song its own trademark because it has a certain lick in it or I'll play a certain pattern. But most of it will be improvised. I'm not as impressed with guitarists that don't ever improvise any of their solos. Improvise some at least. You might play something great!

  • no this is the best ive heard.

  • are you kidding is fuukin great

  • This is the Madison Square Garden version of TSRTS right?

  • yes, in my mind, heartbreaker from the srts is his best

  • they should have added this to the TRTS DVD instead on the bonus disc ..

  • I'm sooooooo sad they didn't show him doing all of the heartbreaker solo :(

  • they just had to show that stupid robbery thing over it, they should have just showed them do the whole song..

  • yeah, he probably played with his teeth behind his back too :(, he's so friggin good

  • They were not allowed to edit the video of the TSRTS as they don't own the rights to edit the footage (long story).

Thus they couldn't add Over the Hills, Misty Mountain Hop or The Ocean to the original movie.
