  • Excellent Video. I have a list of Every Advertisement agency in Chicago, and I was already in route to cutting out the middle men. Hearing your take on setting up multiple websites, each structured for passive income was what I needed to hear. Thanks, I will be watching you StandOut....

  • Spot-on as usual! Great value, Pat. Best of luck in 2012!

  • Great video, thank you!

  • Pat, I know you posted this video a few years ago, however, I have a question. LOL With Adsense, do you suggest having it for a while so you know who wants to advertise on let's say your youtube videos? And then contact them? It might sound like an ignorant question but I'm confused as to how you would know who is interested in advertising without initially trying it for a few months first.

    Thanks! -V

  • nice idea... but the adsense today(2012) depends on the users search activities so the ads may depend on a case to case basis. I hope there is a way which adsense my viewers click on more frerquently

  • Thank you for the ad-sense tip!

  • I like the Adsense tip!

are you interested in a method

of building multiple streams of PASSIVE INCOME?

  • My favorite part was how straightforward you made everything. Thank you!

  • my favorite part of this video was how i shouldn't use adsense and contact the advertisers instead to get a better deal. totally makes sense!

    thanks pat

  • awsome

  • Very informative and good adsense tip at the end. ;)

  • i like how the payment processor sends the product directly to the customer. how much do they charge us.

  • Pat, good ideas put out in a easy to understand way. Liked the chalkboard idea.

  • I liked the adsense tip

  • I like the fact that you're using visuals along with your explanation. Not only does it excite me, it also motivates me as well. I'll be visiting your blog often!

  • Pat your videos are really very useful. They're straight to the poin and without all the other bul that other videobloggers do. That's why you get so many viewers. If ever you're in the Philippines look me up. I'd like to get you as a speaker for my business. Maybe we could do a video chat lesson for my small group. Sorry, if this is too much to ask. But you're such an effective speaker it would really help my small business. God bless.

  • job search [ - careerfair.info - ]

  • My understanding was that google doesn't want you directly contacting advertisers. If it's ok, what do you suggest charging? It obviously would depend on the nitche, but is there an 'x-number of daily visitors' = 'y-amount of dollars' ? Thanks!

  • just stumbled on your videos after researching on how to start a blog

  • Pat,

I was wondering what you used to make your "chalkboard" drawings. Love the simplicity.

  • Comment removed

  • i'm really surprised that you just did that to google. Just shut them out. I think it's funny. I really like your blog and the information you're giving. I'm gonna try it out and see if I could get something.

  • the information in ad-sense. that helped me.

  • Love the breakdown of the "automated" passive income machine. Your diagram at the beginning helped me immensely.

  • I like the straight forward way you speak but I'm a novice and there is still quite abit I don't understand. Like how do have a website without having a product with an ad on it? Also, it was great the way you mentioned there could be several websites generating incoome passively but what products and are they stocked up in my house to sell these products? I will continue to listen there's much I need to learn. Great work!

  • Nice Video.

  • cool stuff man.

  • The drawings and metaphors always do the trick for me! Great job!

  • I love the pics. Very simple and easy to understand.

  • Hi Pat. Thanks for sharing.

  • the adsense tip!

  • Thanks for sharing Pat. Very inspiring

  • Great video, made very simple and broken down to the basic ,,,,,

  • Great video, made very simple and broken down to the basic

  • I really like the way you explain the material. I'm enjoying your manner when doing the video. Everything that you say is clear and shown very well. Your tone is relaxing when you are speaking and you seem very personable.

    Thank you for the videos.

  • Well how about an assload of webpages... with Adsense on them and Clickbank links on there. Clickbank conversions are only about 1-3%. Of the other 97% a good percentage of them will click on relevant ads that Google displays. I'd rather have both of those money generating tools on my website than just one. If someone wants to buy then they'll buy period. The only good way to use Clickbank is to have a huge mailing list and opt in people. The Guru's don't tell you that part, do they?

  • mind. Thank you so much, SmartPassiveIncome, You were a God sent to me. And I totally appreciate yr lecture and the way you did it proves that you really are a smart one☆ Thanx again. God bless you. And may God bless me with the passive income by me being able to apply yr method and be successful in the name of Jesus!! AMEN.

  • i thank God for yr teachings!! I loved the place where you put smilling face on the customer and the seller(both of them happy) and the way you taught was everything presicely/clear making sence and the best in those how-to business. (period!)

plus the way it was shown w/ yr handwritting and drawings was lovely, making it warm n cozy & easy to learn from my(students') sight. Becuz 't was made short & fast, yr program is encouraging me now to bring it up for my own business faster w/ clearer

  • The best thing about this presentation was that it was simple, clear and very easy to understand:-)

  • Clear info thank you im just wondering how do i get hits on my website?

  • It is a really good video. My favorite part was the AdSense bit. You really hit gem there. Most people fall victim to Google's fascist ways of governing, but direct as is a really good alternative. I have an unfinished e-book, so I don't know what to do with it. I cannot get testimonials, or do anything flashy yet. Neither can I copyright it. For now, I am trying on Affiliate Marketing.

  • I like the simple tips.. very easy to understand... I appreciate it

  • I really appreciate this being so new to internet marketing on online business in general, thank you. Very clever on cutting out the middle man.

  • it was great!! But don't know what to sell!!!! lol

  • Your information is greate! but I would like to know a bit more information of how do I can start generating passive income! thanks for your help an time.

  • Thanks a lot Pat. I've subscribed and want to get as much info as I can until I'm up and running. Best part for me was the model illustration. My question is what is the total cost of setting up the entire model the first time, what pre-reqs are needed, what are good and bad products to market?

  • Great video, Pat. I was completely caught with surprise when you suggested to stop using Adsense as your #1 Adsense tip and instead contact advertisers directly.

That's a wonderful idea, and something I may consider doing soon with my niche sites.

    Christina

  • Wow this is great I would love to be able to set up my own websites to bring in passive income. Contact me bro would like to know how to get started

  • Hey Pat

I am enjoying your video's, podcasts and your blogs. They are all very informative. Thanks.

  • Wish You were a Friend of Mine

  • Pat, thanks for the video, quality and to the point information.

  • I like the clear diagrams from this presentation. It make sense.

  • Thanks for that Pat. I like how simplified your model is.

  • Hi Pat, I've just recently come across your website/podcast/YouTube Content. Am really appreciative that you make this content accessible...

  • Thanks I knew most of this already but still good job.

  • You successfully summarize Tim Ferriss's book '4 Hour Workweek' quite well. Very straight forward. Thank you.

  • great video Pat. It was very helpful and eye-opening. However, in your video, you provided us with a passive income business model of sending our prospects straight to our sales page. Wouldn't it be more profitable for us to send them to a squeeze page, capturing their name and email, provide value, and then sell them on buying our product?

  • Hi, You explained everthing Pretty clear,to a newer than new newby,(if there is such a word) Thanks You!,Jack

  • As usual...GREAT video Pat...honest, straight, and helpful...YOU CONTINUE TO ROCK! :)

  • Very helpful. Especially with the Adsense tip on cutting out the middle man.

  • Great video nice one

  • Great Video . . .

    Well Done Pat . . .

  • Great video Pat! I use to read Your blog for sometime, while building my blog about music industry. I learned a LOT with Your content and I wanted to thank You for that :) Don't know if there's someone else, who gives away his own experienced wisdom about passive income in way You do - that's just simple, smart and honest. Thanks again. Hope I will turn my e-book alive to the end of 2010 ;)

    Regards from Poland.

    Kuba

  • I like that the information was presented in a simple and quick manner. Thank you for sharing.

  • kool

  • i'll have to watch that later... there's jackhammer and sirens outside all the time...

  • My favorite part is "passive income makes you very happy." Yes it does! I get passive income from my visual designs and I'm looking around youtube for more ideas to get more passive income. I LOVE passive income more than Homer Simpson loves donuts. I hate jobs so much. Search for "I hate my job" on youtube to see why people hate their jobs. It's the same for me. I quit my last job 2 years ago. Working in a job is stupid. Passive income is smart.

  • You know what the trick is to your blog and videos, Pat? They're honest.

  • @justexpression Thanks :) I appreciate that so much.

  • Loved the video. I liked the part of contacting advertiser and getting them to place links on my site instead of adsense.

  • Good job! My only tip would be to have a little more presence... content is great! Just be a little more lively!

  • My Fav part was the Business model (flow diagram) of how the passive income stream works. Its crist, precise and effective.

  • @itsprad "crisp" is the word you were looking for.

  • Thanks, Pat. I love your videos.

I first saw you in your video on how to make a static FB page. I thought your instructions were FANTASTIC--clear, easy to understand, etc. I followed you and ended up here.

I like this video and I also have a silly question--what tools are you using to do your "chalk board" drawings?? Powerpoint?? Do you use Bamboo for your writing? I really like your teaching tools.

Thank you very much. I've subscribed to you and look forward to seeing more.

    Julia

  • Great video explaining adsense! The drawing tool makes it really interactive - simpler than a screencast where it can get confusing really quick. The lesson of using adsense to find advertisers is so simple but so overlooked. I am excited to try this out soon.

  • Pat, are you using camtasia and a wacom board? I like the template. Good content.

  • HEy Pat!

I really loved the way you managed to make this presentation so easy to follow!

The advice on the Ad-sense is really hard to take, but i'll take it anyway. Although this does mean I'll have to figure out where to put the advertisements of the guys I contacted.

Thanks ones again. Looking forward to your next video-blog!

  • Thanks Pat for the great tip and lesson. What I like best of all with the video is the explanation with the blackboard.

  • great stuff...thanks pat...your vidoes and info are of great value

  • Nice job pat! The way you explained the passive income stream and your Google tip in the video made it very easy to follow. Thanks!

  • Really cool trick to "bypass" Google! Keep it up man! Great stuff!

  • Hey Pat! Awesome stuff! I've just recently started reading your blog and think it's fantastic. I'm just wondering how you go about choosing electronic (i.e. e-books) to create? (how do you research or decide what is "HOT" that markets are after?) If there is a post that already exist - sorry! As i said, I only just started reading your blog :)

  • Good presentation Pat...thanks for the info. Great tip about going straight to the advertisers

  • great info bro, Anyone reading this you can make what this dude said if you make a ebook and post in clickbank. affiliates will sell it for you and you make the cash like the smily thin guy.. the hard part is making the ebooks.

  • @troy0619 Creating an eBook or physical book is actually not that hard. Hire a Ghost Writer. If you want to go paperback, explore LuLu.com

  • Thanks Pat! I like being able to follow along with the drawing tool. Great investment! I appreciate your helpfulness and really enjoy your blog. I have been spending a fair amount of time there recently :)

    Wish you the best!

  • Great advice. Great video.

Funnily enough, I had just come to the same conclusion about how to make money from a website. I am making more money than ever with a blog of mine that was well ranked but wasnt generating any revenue by contacting an advertiser directly. I came to this conclusion only one month ago. I'll be subscribing to your blog.

    Regards,

    A. (based in Paris, France)

  • @tacobell1234gf Thanks A.! I wish you continued success :)

  • Pat:

Thanks. Been there -done that and there's a downside. You have to look, act & be professional to actually compete with Google to get ads directly.

It would be better, I believe, if Google would share their details with AdSense Publishers - and what's left over for you so you can see the hidden costs.

The fact that they don't makes your approach seem reasonable-but adds costs to you if you diy it.

Direct selling of an eBook is a totally different beastie.

    MrPyrometer on twitter

  • @grp362 Thanks Mr Pyrometer. You're definitely right, you do have to be somewhat professional when you approach these advertisers, but it would be silly not to be. It isn't that hard though, and it's worked for me, because I was able to give them specific numbers as far as how much they would be paying google, vs. paying you. I don't really see how this adds a significant amount of cost on your end, however.

Thanks for your comment! Cheers man!

  • @grp362 if they did that everyone would stop using google because they would realise how much they are getting riped off.

  • Pat, thanks for the advice, liked the tip at the end.

  • @socitdotcom I appreciate that! It really helped me get to that "next level" with my advertising campaigns.

  • Thanks ..It's helpful..

  • @MrNavinderan Thanks! Glad you liked it.

  • Pat,

You're the best buddy. I really like how you focus on shifting our "mindset" on serving advertisers directly. Cutting Google (the middle man) out of the equation = more money for the website owner

    Thanks,

    Ian.

  • @iagard Thanks Ian, I appreciate that. Google is awesome, and a great way to start. I can't thank them enough, but once you get to a point where you think you could benefit not only yourself, but the advertiser too, there's no reason not to try it out. Like @grp362 says, however, you do have to be a bit professional. You can't just email them with no information and expect they will hand over money. :)

  • Wow, nice and simple easy to follow presentation. I am very new to this, i was layed of work unexpectedly last week and decided that due to my family commitments I wanted to find something online. I just signed up to adsense as well as another online hosting company which I think may be a scam but well, we live, we learn, we move on.

Im going to keep going and as you say, experiment and find what works and what doesnt and learn from it all.

    Cheers

  • @Aeroney73 I'm sorry to hear about your layoff. What is the "scam" you're talking about. You do live and learn, but if you can find people who can confirm stuff for you (like something you're paying for is actually a scam), we can all help! I love your attitude and wish you the best of luck!

  • Hi Pat, thanks for the reply. I signed up with Online Hosting Network. After intial sign up I did a search online and found they are a fairly new company, and the feedback I found is more negative than positive

If you or any of your subscribers has any input about this it would be much appreciated. The concept is that I bought into a associates/affiliates programme. I get a website and 2 affliate links on my page.

So much to learn but im finding alot of help on your pages!

    Thanks again Pat

  • Love what you're doing here. I only wish I could find a Niche that this model would work well for. By the way, the Hi Mom sign in the background at the beginning was funny. Keep the videos coming!

  • @MrMike428 Finding a niche can indeed be difficult, but you shouldn't get too hung up on it. Try something out, if it doesn't work, figure out why and move on to the next. Luckily, it costs pennies to get started doing this type of stuff.

  • Great presentation. I think iPhone Apps would work this your passive income business model.

  • @LOLerApps iPhone apps would work, because you're setting up a product that gets distributed on iTunes, so iTunes becomes your "payment processor & distributor". Plus, no need for a website! (Although I would recommend one for marketing purposes). Good luck!

  • Great presentation!

  • @mtanquary Thanks!

  • I really like the way you present your topics. The explanations are very easy to understand. Great video.

  • @hdgjmg8229 Thanks a ton! I try to make everything as easy to consume as possible. Hope to hear from you again soon!

  • Excellent presentation. That whiteboard style is nice and you made the whole process very clear.

A question I have would be how many page views/visitors/etc a month should we have before we go to the company thats in the adsense ad. I know it would vary depending on traffic, but what's the least amount of traffic we should have or does it matter?

  • Hey Allen, that's a tough question because it depends on the size of your niche and stuff like that.

I'd say the best factor is to look at your Google Adsense reports and see how many clicks are going through to that website. I believe there are ways to track this in your reports, as well as through Google Analytics. If their's getting multiple clicks coming from your site, then that's probably a good sign that the particular company is a good candidate for this type of thing. Good luck!

  • thanks for the tip, especially the one about google adsense.

  • @noeldomingo Hey no problem! I'm glad you found it useful!

  • Pat, thanks for your presentation I got a lot out of the multiple stream thing and I don't use Adsense (no reason). I've been blogging for 2 years now and only now have I gotten serious about it - Thanks Tim

  • @tbrunner23 Thanks Tim! What's your blog, I'd love to check it out! Please keep in touch. Cheers mate!

  • Thank you for your presentation. How did you get over your fear of connecting to people over the internet to make deals?

  • That's a great question. It was in fact a hard thing to get over because you always hear about "bad things" on the internet, and I didn't want to be a part of that. But, if you provide good and honest information to people, you'll have nothing to worry about. I kind of just dove right in, knowing that my number one goal was to help people learn. If you can keep that as your goal, people will eventually be more than happy to deal with you if you make it worth their time and money.

  • Pat,

I started watching your blog SPI about 3 months ago. I want to do what you are doing. I'm a visual learner so video instruction is very helpful. Love the chalk board. I'm in. Show me how to get this going on. Thanks.

  • I really like the new visual whiteboard style you've adopted for this video it's a lot easier to learn this way.

  • I also agree with BrettBrashear. Even Commission Junction pays more than Adsense

  • Great format, really appreciate the Adsense tip at the end.
