'Course it's animation, all animation is, is a sequence of stills brought together to give a visual storey. Disney and Pixar seem to have given people the illusion that animation is moving images, but they are in fact just a further more advanced type of animation. You could, using the same process as stop motion turn these sequences of images into an animated 'movie' just as easily.

@derBrene It is called sand animation because before performing like this Mr Cako made small animated movies with sand (wich were very nice too).

I guess the name sand animation was kept even though on this display there is no animation in it's original meaning.
