I don't get the point of taking a trip and destroying a per fitly good snowmobile? My buddy bought a submarine sled once, it took all winter to get it right. oil pump carbs cleaned new pistions water in the tank witch took forever to get out. frozen chain case. broken gears, whats the point?

It's not the water skipping that destroys the sleds, it's how the person deals with it afterwords is what will then cause problems. If you sink your sled and then do nothing to get the water out of the motor right away then there will be damage but if you do it right, then your sled will be just fine.
