  • Damn she was awesome! and quite nice looking to.

  • She gives ole Jerry Lee a run for his money and I'm not convinced he wins.

  • @Hutzjohn Wasn't this done by Big Maybelle before Jerry covered it?

  • @TheNoodlePan The origins of the song are disputed, but the writing is co-credited to African American singer/songwriter Dave "Curlee" Williams, and white pianist, bandleader and songwriter James Faye "Roy" Hall (May 7, 1922 - March 2, 1984).[1] On March 21, 1955, Big Maybelle made the first recording for Okeh Records; it's produced by the young Quincy Jones.

  • Her voice is soooooooooooooooooo hot.

  • Wanda Jackson is the queen of GREAT cover versions !!

  • Wanda is awesome.

  • Wanda's voice is so cool and edgey ! Great sound <3

  • the only country singer i listen too...well and taylor swift

  • @MYheroMJrip oh please, how can you put her and taylor swift in the same category? this woman is so real :)

  • @therealhermione94 i don't like country music. the only person i could tolerate is Taylor. until i came across wanda that is. i'm not comparing them. it was a statement.

  • @MYheroMJrip It's Rockabilly, not quite Country ;) Closely related genres though

  • @TheDJGrandPa i know what you mean. like elvis. he is both rock and roll and country.

  • @MYheroMJrip Yup, it's a simple blend of Rhythm & Blues and Country, but damn has it done much for modern culture :P

  • @TheDJGrandPa i noticed you are from Sweden. How did you get into this genre of music. it seems to be very southern.

  • @MYheroMJrip We've got lots of different sub-cultures here that listens to 50's music, I happened to be born in an area where there are a lot of these people :)

  • @TheDJGrandPa do you mind telling me where this place is? i'm fascinated by this because not only is this song old but the fact that you guys are still into it.

  • @MYheroMJrip Search for "raggare" and you might something, it's hard to find any hard-on documents on it, especially for non-Swedes. Our greasers just kinda survived the Hippie revolution in some weird way and kinda stuck, and evovled of course. Today's culture is a lot different, but the word "raggare" means a lot different depending on where you live. Where I live it's usually something positive, though not if you ask the immigrants. It's just hard to describe.

  • @TheDJGrandPa I found alot of information about "raggare" actually. It seems to be very Scandinavian. But it doesn't seem to be positive from what i found. By the way you are amazing in English. Most Norwegians and swedes i know can't speak it close to good enough. I find it embarrassing to admit i like 50s music here. its considered very very veryyyy old.

  • @MYheroMJrip Raggare has like its own 6-7 sub-cultures so to say, it's a lot different depending on where you live.

I'm not shy about my hobby, it's what I live for :)

  • @TheDJGrandPa do you listen to Motown? i love 60s music more than 50s. 70s was pretty hot too with the rock and disco...

  • @MYheroMJrip I stopped listening to that when I was around 15 :) Just kinda stopped liking it. Sure beats Gaga and Bieber though

  • @TheDJGrandPa eww do not mention bieber. she/he gets too much attention. only little girls like him lol.. gaga i kinda like. so u don't like the jacksons, marvin gaye , stevie wonder etc?

  • @MYheroMJrip Nope I don't like em. Used to.... I guess I kinda replaced them with 30's-early 50's Blues, Jazz, Big Band, Boogie Woogie, R&B and the likes :)

  • @TheDJGrandPa we filled up at least 50% of all the comments for this video. boogie -woogie sounds funny. who's a hot artist for that genre i can check out? you listen to R&B from now you mean?

  • @MYheroMJrip I guess we did... I could go on for hours about this, it's my life :P

F**k no I don't mean R&B from now. I don't even call that R&B, no, the originals! Hank Ballard, the Dominoes, Jackie Wilson etc. Boogie Woogie sounds funny? I think it sounds great :P

  • @TheDJGrandPa lol i was a bit confused when you said r&b. it clears it up a bit now that you said Jackie Wilson etc. boogie woogie is such an old dance move. my life is really defined by 1930s and 1940s jazz music. and the beatles...aerosmith...rebel bands.
