Honestly, I don't know why people don't like this and halo wars. Sure, you don't get matchmaking in this and Halo wars isn't an FPS, but they have something I love in games: You can have a really good time in a custom game with just two people. In halo you had the choice of campaign or one on one slayer when you don't want to do matchmaking. In ODST, you could play firefight, explore a city, or do campaign. In wars, you had a plethora of options because of A.I.s

this has got to be my favorite over all the halo's in overall landscape, the look and feel of the environment is incredible. Being along in city streets with all those super intendent signs is pretty sick, plus the lighting and music is top notch! Most underated Halo of them all

Don't get me wrong this is an awesome game but it was a bit disappointing.

The painfully overused 'Firefly' references sucked after a while and the characters of Buck, Dutch and Mickey are a little too similar to their 'Firefly' counterparts (the no-nonsense captain with a bloody past, the tough guy with a gun called Vera and the wise-cracking, slightly insane pilot)

Also, being the first time you get to play these bad-ass mothers, it wasn't a very good story choice.

ODST (in my opinion) is the best out of the series so far. The fact that you don't play as an overpowered Spartan makes this game about survival. The story was brilliantly written and had some of the best characters Halo had to offer. Sure the story wasn't as long as other Halo games but the impact it had was a lot better than the other games. Forget Master Chief, forget Spartans, these guys are the real Heroes.

@CCCP307 They are marines that has more intense combat training and physical training than normal humans. They excel at every combat system( snipers, melee, shotgun, etc. ) than normal humans or normal marines. They can run and jump a bit higher than normal marines but not as much as spartans. ODST's are train from a young age, well some of them. ODST's takes the lead, while Spartans are commanders.

@DCLucero44 They didn't know, do you remember in halo 2 when the carrier jumped inside the city that's when this takes place.The ODSTs thought that they were going to land on the carrier and stop the prophet inside but Dare had a secret mission for them so thats's why dare lead them a bit off course but then the ship jumped and scattered the whole squad across the city and it's not a nuke it's slip space
