Volvo 240 Turbo vs Ford Cosworth

The Cosworth has "only" 200 hp and 4WD so it goes fast but a "normal turbo-tuned" Volvo has -I would say over 300 hv at the rear wheels so the result was somewhat obvious even though I still respect the Cosworth's performance.

@FocusRS1991 U know that the t5 engine is a ford engine ?? ;) ;) All the new volvos are ford, from the engine to the drivetrain ;).... Ford is a real REAL car company and its the best, Volvo needed france to make engines for em and some blueprint for the cars body :p and still the 240 series 740 seriers 940 ++ uses a drivetrain thats made in the late 1940s. Its a brick with a pice of shit engine on top of it... Only 2 goooood volvos are made thats the amazon and PV.

@cosworth89 Allthe french engines were crap and the volvo engines constructed in sweden are really good. About the drivetrain have a close look it scandinavian rallyecross RWD... Wich engines and drivetrains do they use.... Absolutely not FORD they use Volvo.. Everybody knows Ford and Cosworth are nice and extremely fragile engines,,, put them on the shelf not in a car

Actually Ford sold Volvo to some Chinese company, so no longer, the 5 cylinder engine in the Ford however, are Volvo engines, so Ford had to use Volvo engines to improve themselves, paired with Ford's good chassi and suspension, it was a great match too.

France however made the crap 1.4 liters used in the silly FWD stuff, Volvo stopped being Volvo when they went FWD, same with Ford, Escort MK1 and MK2 is the REAL Fords as you speak of, the BDA Engines were amazing.

Ive compared my volvo against Escort cossies on ice tracks and they had 400bhp and my volvo had 200bhp. I had the same laptimes.Too sad for you but RWD Volvos are great. Search on the web and youll discover a lot..

For the love of god VOLVO has been using COSWORTH heads since the 70's And the 700 series uses a Cosworth 16v head... Volvo marine b23 ft uses a redblock with the cosworth head. It is a match made in heaven.

@te3data the 5 cylinder engine is volvos own engine !! do a little research before you open your mouth !!! the 5 cylinder diesel in the old 850s and early v70 is audi not the gasoline engine !!.. the 2,4 engine is 5 cylinder its the same engine as the 2.5 but they had to change it the name to 2.4 because it isnt 2.5 liters.. check something before you post !!
