@143rdShadowARCunit It can be a little confusing at first, especially if you don't already read music. I guess it helps that I both work with computer languages and play music. It's been a while but I can probably help if you have any specific questions.

@BakaSSj well i played violin for a long time but I learned more from listening than note reading so reading music isn't my forte. I guess a specific question would be what is MML and how do you take songs (Still Alive for instance) and put them in that format?

@143rdShadowARCunit MML is basically putting the letter of the note you want to play followed by a number which tells how long the note should play for. Now that I think about it, I guess it was a little complicated lol. Unfortunately I can't remember the site where I used to edit my songs. I think it was related to Nexon and it would show what the song would sound like. If anyone knows what site it was or one that works the same that would make things easier.

@BakaSSj google 'mabinogie EU', go to the european mabi site, next there is a 'composer' part at the community tab. On this site, there is a link to a composing site where u can edit and hear it =)

@143rdShadowARCunit Basically what the other guy said. It really really really REALLY helps if you can read music. I haven't played in a while but it's not as complicated as it seems, it's very messy and untidy as fuck..but not that complicated. If you want to get the hang of it start with a simple song that doesn't use that many notes. Like Saints go marching in or something.
