My mom taught me how to do this a long time ago, but I forgot and three buttons recently fell off my coat. I just sewed them back on :) Thanks for the help
First off, thanks Jenny. I haven't sewed much in life so this is helpful. One question, if the garment to be sewed was worn earlier in the week and is in the wash, is it okay to wash first and then sew or vice versa? Just want to make sure. Thanks in advance
I bought something off the store & when I put it in the Spin-Dryer, the button popped off. This is a very helpful video for people like me who don't have a background in sewing. The sewing action is a bit off the upper-left hand side, so I was struggling to follow it at first, but it got better (centering).
I was able to successfully sew my 1st button, LOL! Thank you, Jenny T.
Thanks, very helpful. I don't get the hate here. If you don't have seven minutes of patience for watching an instructional video, sewing is probably not for you.
This is a very good video. Don't pay any attention to the preceding comments. If you want to learn how to sew on a button, if you need a well-shot, close-up video with clear instructions, this is it!
Cool video. Speaking of which, does anyone know any good video games involving fashion and sewing? I know there's Fashion Craze and the Fashion Fantasy Game, but are there any others? Specifically, I'm looking for something with a sewing center like on the Fashion Fantasy Game.
Thank you. You made that look very easy. I have a a pair of shorts I only wear two times and the button fell of and they have been in the draw ever since. I will wear them today.
Christ woman piss or get off the pot. Just tell us how to sew a stupid button without asking obvious rhetorical questions for 45 minutes on end!!!! Youtube is too democratic.
Thanks so much JennyT! It's exciting and empowering to learn how to sew a button and see how easy it really is! Now I'm inspired to reinforce the other buttons still on my shirt (they are very nice buttons and I don't want to risk losing them).
You, madam, are a seamstress of superior quality. Not only do you know how to sew, but you are excellent at giving clear and concise directions. I thank you!
thanks a ton for the instructional! i've never sewed a thing before, but the main button on my favorite around-the-house pants fell off. with your help, everything is perfect again. AND, i learned something new today :)
@Markofitch Our point is that we don't need to be "sold" on the idea as we've all sought out the instructions to begin with. We are not on YouTube randomly watching videos and coming from a place of spontaneously deciding to sew a button on. Call it constructive criticism. Thanks to DraperyIdeas for the original post.
@m18c65yt On the flip-side, the criticism was and is totally unnecessary in this regard. You all came here to find a video that explained how to sew a button on, you found it, you followed the instructions, you learned how to sew, and then you proceeded to bitch about how the video didn't fit your specific needs. If you can make a better video, do so. This fake concern for whether or not the video was concise and to the point is just that: fake.
Jenny, I watched a couple of other how to videos before I came to yours. IMO yours was, by far, the clearest and easiest to follow. I especially liked the idea of using pins to help create a shank. I have saved this to my "How to do practical things" playlist. Great job and thanks so much!
life saver....it only took me 5 min to put back a button on my fav jacket. Prior to watching ur video, I spent 2 hrs literally pricking my fingers hahahaha brownie points to u and youtube :) Now, im ready for the cold season! thanks
