  • Wasn't this almost banned in Egypt for being too racy? Looks pretty innocuous by most of the world's standards.

As for the dialect, I don't have the answer, but it could be either Egyptian or Lebanese. Egyptian is popular even outside of Egypt as movies, music and soap operas from there are popular. However, Lebanese music is becoming very popular in the Arab world, some Lebanese singers write music in their own dialect now. I only know fus'ha and some Moroccan Darija , so can't be sure.

  • What dialect does she sing in?

  • @Lynne007 She sings in the Egyption dialect. I don't think any of her songs are in Lebanese dialect.

  • Im glad she pushed the envelope in this video. This was the first time I had seen any sort of sex appeal in an arabic video which is what we need, all of this female supression going on in the mid east is repulsive.

  • nancy ajram is very beautiful (:

  • Yea her hair is gorgeous, everything is so classy! Not like stupid american and uk women songs and vids (*_*)

  • I love this!!

  • I love her hair style in this clip!!!

  • it s not berberian it s egyptian arabic

  • barberian? its lebanese arabic XD even i can understand it and im from morocco.

  • of course, you understand because you are arab nation (maghrib), a dialet is barberian becauese it is not standard laaguage, even Morrocco Arabic and Lebanses arabic are not same, I am not Lebanese, nor I am arab, I am a Chinese, i must listen 10 times then I understand well..

  • Well Now U know How we feel when someone speaks chinese... It sounds barbaric!!!

  • no, if you can speak standard Chinese (Mandarin), all people who live in Hong Kong, Taiwan, USA, UK, Singapore, Malaysia can unserstand that language, if a non Chinese learned that language with very basic, for example, 6 months he can understand that language well.

  • Not like your barbarian arabic, Egyptians, Iraqis, Lebananese, Morrocos, Saudis all speak different arabic

  • they do not speak in the same langauge!a sperson spent six years learned standard Arabic, but these arabs are broken people, they speak different language, mostly so called local dialtes which we call barberian languages, see this girl Nancy Ajram, in what language does she sing? standard ARABIC? nO! It's lebananese barbarien language, not fusohah,

  • I understand Lebanese just fine and I'm Iraqi, there's nothing wrong with having different dialects, take a hike 3jmie.

  • lmaooooooooooo! (at the 3jmie part)

  • @ isama009

Btw, even Standard Mandarin isn't Classical Chinese(文言文) but a vernacular form (白話) of it. I'm sure you already know this. I'm sure only a very few (if any at all) speak Classical Chinese. So, it's the same thing as Arabic. And this btw applies to nearly all old languages.

  • but a lahajah! uncivilized! uneducated, not standard lanaguage is a barberian language, you and your language

idot and barberian, because you cannot speak Standard arabic, only al-jazeerah news readers can!

  • U r really funny!!! This is the beauty of the Arabic language, that is everyone has their own Dialect, and noone speaks Standard Arabic, only in the News. Well Too bad, U only understand the news because U r gonna Miss on ALOT of FUN... Just because people have dialects does not make them uncivilzed and uneducated, but maybe you are too stupid to understand that ;P. Lebanese dialect is the most beautiful in all dialect, but too bad you cant appreciate that!!

  • that's reason why arabs cannot be united, they just like sands, they speak different languages, they do not understand each other, so they are fucked by Israli, Americans, Britishes up and down into 22 piecies (22 arab countries, each of them speak different language, they are barberian because they speak their tribe languages, they cannot communicate with each other in same standard language, they are deserts and sands, hence arabs are Barberians!

  • Maybe it's better for U to go back to China! u dont deserve to Live in an Arabic Speaking country!! U cant see the beauty and the Uniqueness of it :)) Peace

  • then , lets start by yourslef, be good and invite the others to be good too, then you'll see the difference:)))

  • then , lets start by yourslef, be good and invite the others to be good too, then you'll see the difference:)))

  • Are you insane. Any Arab from any Arab country can understand the rest of the Arab dialects. I am a Sudanese and I can understand Moroccan, Egyptian, Iraqi or Saudi Arabic. It is all the same with minor differences in word usage and accenting.

  • I know a Lebanese young woman and she told me that she understands this and that arabic(don`t ask me: I forgot)more or less good, but she said, that Moroccan Arabic is more different than the other dialects.(not to forget there are Spanish and French influences)

  • yes ... !! she is right ^^ ... + in mOrOccO there are a lot Of dialect ... & mOrOccan peOple can understanD all Others Dialects ^^

  • All of the Arab singers sing in Egyptian Arabic because it is the most widely understood. You probably learned your Arabic from a remote village in Morocco.

  • Does anyone know if Nancy will be performing in Europe anytime in 2008?

I used to live in Kuwait, love arabic music and would just love to see her perform live!

  • احب هذه الاغني

  • shes my favourite arabic singer even tho i dnt understand arabic, thanks for the subtitles btw :)

  • nancy ajram is more beautiful than haifa whebhe and have a more grand charm

  • what????let me laugh

  • Nancy is not fit for this kind of songs. Haifa will do a better job!

  • ilove all of nancys song but not this song!!! ha

  • this bitch is fake!! go najwakaram!! najwa 4 eva!!!

  • We watched this video in my Arabic 101 class. Only word I understood was "7abibi."

  • Because she's not speaking in formal dialect. She sings in a local lebanese accent which is a lot different than what you study in books.

  • i don't see why everyone is giving you and bpine20 thumbs down, cause what you're saying is absoultely true lol!

each middle eastern country, syria, iraq, lebanon etc have their own accent, and different words. even cities within those countries have their own accents and diff words.

    but we understand eachother!

  • TO MUCH GOOOOOODD!!!!!! I LooOve Nancyyyyy!!!!!!!!

  • Lebanese girls are fuckin gorgeous...Just a side thought, I like Nancy better than Haifa, Haifa's a little too slutty for me.. They both HOTT though ;)....

  • najwa is better than both them cock sucking whores!!!

  • Whos Haifa?

  • Haifa Wehbe is another popular Lebanese singer and entertainer. She's gorgeous, arguably, even more prettier than Nancy, but Nancy has class, Haifa for me is a little too slutty.

  • you are the bom the only one good for you keep up the good job w Love u
