As someone who has considered following a career in animation, I can't help but feel discouraged by all the "well there's no detail so everything looks sloppy" ideology. When there's action that's moving this fast, and with this much power behind it, excessive detail actually would take away from the force of the motion of each character and serve as a distraction from the whole movement. This is not an animator being lazy; it's one who knows how to use motion in the physical form.
@nanakieverblaze i have to disagree. have you seem the "fast motion" from afro samurai or samurai champloo? those are fast and don't look as sloppy. even with fast motion they shouldn't ignore the details for each frame.
There's no point in having a specific style of animation that shells itself out into funky aspergers induced plastics running the fuck all over the place.
Remember this is a fast paced fight, then there's those people who say that this was badly animated just like the Naruto vs Pain. Obviously you don't know what animation is if it hits you in the face. -_____________-
This scene was in one word EPIC! 8D I have watched it I don't know how many times :D EPIC animation and movements :D Thank you so much for uploading most parts of their final fight, I couldn't find it elswhere but the ep itself^^
@Mostlikelykilled Search "sakuga" on youtube, you'll see a lot of nice scenes similar to this one from other animes. But this one in particular is fucking epic. It reminds me the "kyuubi vs pain" scene from Naruto, very "experimental". If you didn't see it, do it!
I think she could have easily defeated Nataru, clearly shown when she knocked him back those two times. Since he was her friend she decided not to fight and instead....get her ass kicked.
@saphireblade15 I can prove you're wrong! Look at 1:47 . Not only Birdy gets punched and kicked through several thick heavy stone objects, but Nataru's POoWER FISTo is Green. 2:00 That is one level higher than Blue Power fist wich Capella and Birdy have
@Mostlikelykilled It proves that he's stronger but Birdy is more skilled. Nataru isn't in full control of his abilities since they are raw. Birdy's powers are more controlled and shes trained. During the fight she was basically defending the whole fight. When she did attack, she could get a good hit. She just didn't. So I think she could have defeated him if she tried harder.
@saphireblade15 bro birdy could have killed him since the beginning she been through tough fights she could have killed him in the first place but she didn't cause she loved him to much so nataru could never kill her she to hard to kill
@saphireblade15 I totaly agree, Birdy would have beaten Nataru. From what we've seen of her in the rest of the anime and like you said, the way knocked him back twice and not to mension (SPOILER FOR THE END OF EP 12 OF SEASON 2) Birdy is actually a successful creation of Ikushiora. the perfect one of all, they created :)

@Blazureokami It may played at a frame rate, but the number of unique frames in a given time can be more or less. Frame count may be the phrase im looking for. For instance if you were to make take this and cut it up frame by frame for a portion of this fight scene and eliminated duplicate frames, the count would be very low (leading to simplistic/less fluid animation). Take something exactly as long from say moribito and you will have a lot of unique 'tween' or transitional frames.
@Blazureokami It is animation, which is the rapid exposure of art frame by frame. In this case, the POOR ANIMATION drops to abysmally low frame rates of poorly drawn and undetailed art. Some keyframes of the ANIMATION look like between frames. S1 had an simplistic but catching art style that utilized a nice light color palette and soft lines. But the animation was crisp and smooth. S2 deteriorates to the point where they are animating indistinct blobs. So, stfu with what i know and dont.
@flackenstien your opinion, maybe u don't like the fast paced style of animation alot of people do and alot don't its a gamble but don't go saying shit like that because I'd like u to do better then say what u want but again just your opinion
I didn't know about this anime until I did research on the creator of Escaflowne and Heat Guy J (which I adored). This anime looks incredible. I'll watch it for sure.

it would have looked much more fresh if the characters didn't look like wobbly blobs animated by a bunch paranoid schizophrenics.
this is fucking horrible
I mean the actual final result of the scene itself fleshed out as nothing more than a big fat BLEH at best. Who the hell even animated this.

When you pause mid-action, the art looks rather shotty. But watching it fully animated is just amazing. Genius!

@nanakieverblaze Allow me to restate that
stick figure animation are for more amazing than this in a sense that they don't suddenly implode into a play-doh for a sense of "movement".
and loll at the "it's one who knows how to use motion in the physical form." statement. No it isn't.
it's an animator being monstrously bad in his work.
