  • absolutely delicious! No doubt about this fruit!

  • She looks like the girl from natural born killers!

  • OMG, I saw those at an asian store in San Diego. I was curious about it, but was a bit afraid of trying it. I didn't know what to expect, and to think that it tastes better than apple custard... Thanks! Now I MUST have some.

  • Oh, so that is what women look like when they eat real food...

  • rollinia deliciosa or rollinia mucosa, either way

  • ANONA GIGANTE!!!

  • yay for the lack of bras :)

  • thats a sweet sop on steroids... not rice enough if you have to cut it though

  • but why then i buy this fruit from super market the taste was just disgusting and i try twice ant it was the same :/

  • @Avatar2kelty: I suspect some supermarkets resort to importing fruits which were picked too early or too late out of the tree. Unlike bananas which can be picked green and allowed to ripen during transport, the best sweet or sour sops need more time on the tree to develop flavor and texture. Then when they DO get to that stage where they can be picked and allowed to ripen on their own, they ripen SO fast. (They must be eaten or sold in 36-48 hours, or you get half-rotten mush.)

  • Looks like a guanabana related to the chirimoya from the annona family.

  • Nice|>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • where are you

  • lots of that at our backyard,,its my favorite..

  • I can't believe you took a knife to it haha. Eat these all the time in India. We just sort of pry it open. If it's ripe enough to eat, it just falls apart in your hands :)

  • can you pleaaaaaaaaaaaase send me some seeds or cuttings ,i would love to try grow it in my greenhouse, and it is impossible to get the seeds of this fruit in ireland ,

  • where can i buy this ? im in houston tx.

ive had it before when i was in the tropics

  • LESBIANS!!! i can see on theyre moves !! LESBIANS

  • Our Sugar apples separate when they are ripe and around the edges they seem to be coated with sugar, you just push down on it and it just opens up. Miss those fruits a lot.

  • It looks sorta like a soursop - but still it doesn't - To me the soursop isn't sour though as the ladies are saying in the video. It guess it depends on the individual tree. Every tree i've come across - they are really good and i've never found them to be sour as the name implies.

  • I love Hawaii. Been there 15 times. :D (Been goin' every year, since I was 1)

But yeah.. That looks DELICIOUS. :O

  • dang... this is so big!!! i never knew they can grow that big. I miss eating soursop

  • I am from Laos. You can find this fruit in South East Asia as well.

  • Yeah we call this Sweet Sop in Jamaica but I don't like it by itself I prefer Sweet Sops.

  • that is the biggest sweet sop i ever saw in my life in jamaica they are well small

  • I would love to try this..looks like the perfect dessert from nature, just slice open and eat with a spoon, how fantastic is that!

  • wow thats big. i had them, but they're usually smaller.

  • OVERSIZED ATIS!

  • That's the biggest sugar apple i've ever seen! and I've eaten a LOT! Its cousin the soursop isn't as good fresh out of the pod, but great it icy fruit shakes!

  • in sovjet russia apple custard tastes like rollinia

  • awesome fruit, my fav.. doesn't grow in canada though or anywhere near here for that matter, except in my home under grow lights.

  • This grows well here in tropical Australia. We call it Custard Apple.

  • @MotivationSeeker : You may be refering to Anona Reticulata..Rollinia is Anona Deliciosa and has knobby protrusions where Reticulata is smoother and without them.

  • @halopa246 I googled both names and both come up as having custard apple as a secondary names, so I'm baffled of which one I know as both grow in Australia. I love custard apples and the cousin, soursop and buy them at the farmers markets regularly.

  • @MotivationSeeker; You could be refering to Annona squamosa which is cultivated in Australia and ranges in size from about 2.5-4.0 inches. As per wikipedia under nomenclature..Aussies know it as custard apple. There are quite a number of species in the Annona genus which are easily confused with one another. Rollinia is not commonly cultivated and as you can see from the clip is larger than other Annona species. Rollinia can reach up to almost 8 Inches or 20cm in size.

  • In Grenada, Trinidad, Barbados and other Caribbean islands, it's called Sugar Apple.

  • I sure wish yoga and vegan girls liked to wear nail polish. Sheesh!!

  • No bra on the hippier chick! Love IT!

  • wow thats a big one....very niceeeeeeeee ehehe you ladys are very sexy too heheh

  • This fruit is everywhere in Jamaica, we call it sweetsop out there......its so good....

  • you shouldve made this a big play list!

  • I want one! I love annona fruits. I just planted a Rollinia tree, I don't my area is a little windy but its worth a try. Did she say Hawaii? I believe it's from S. and Central America but my tree is planted at my house in Hawaii. I hope my tree produces fruits that huge and tasty.

  • In El Salvador these are called "Anonas"

They're green on the oustide and the skin comes right off when you peel them, or you can eat them just like that, with a spoon.

  • Where does this amazing fruit come from???

I would definately go in that place for a lifetime.

  • looks to me that its bigger version of Sita Phal ( grows in India/Andhra Pradesh ) quite a lot.

  • yes omg, i love Sita Phal (Sidafar)!!!!! yes and it does look like it, just bigger version of it!!!!

  • Its hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • We have this in Asia, "Atis".

Cherimoya is somehow like this, which ou can buy in Chinatown.

    The onenesschef

  • "Atis" is the sweetsop - sugar apple. Annona squamosa. A close relative.

  • SOURSOP!!!!!!

  • NOT Durian., You don't eat the goo in the durian.

  • just planted a rollinia tree. they don't like windy areas, the roots get damaged and mold easily. but the fruit is well worth having.

  • This looks like a larger version of what we call Sweet Sop in Jamaica and yes, it tastes GREAT. It is full of seeds however but is worth the separation. I'll be sure to check out rollinia when I visit Hawaii in a couple of years.

  • Yeah, it is true. It looks like a larger version of Sweet Soup

  • Looks kind of like that dorian fruit. I don't know the spelling of it.

  • Durian

  • can you buy in anywhere in canada....? :( highly doubt it.

  • You can buy from chinese stores in Toronto but little bit expensive like $5 a pound or each. Buy whcih is litle bit soft and smell nice and ripe.

  • I personally have never seen this fruit in any market in Toronto. What i have seen is the Sweetsop & Soursop on Spadina.

  • Love your educational vids, too, Anthony! Look forward to seeing you in Florida. Come see me at our restaurant : )

  • Jenna! Its so great that you are making these vids! Sharing the wonders of traveling in the tropics...so cool.

Keep it up! See you in Florida this spring hopefully!!!

  • Wow, I want one now. I will eventually make a trip to Hawaii and this will definitely be on the menu.

  • I know that must be great.

  • Just a little info -> Rollinia is also called Biriba. The species is rollinia mucosa (synonymous with rollinia deliciosa). This delicious bugger is native to central American rainforests (amazon). They are a lower rainforest sandy muck-soil loving species; basically they grow in constantly damp soils (advisable for best fruiting). These fruits can get rather large, some weighing a few kilos even.

  • It looks sort-of like a HUGE Cherimoya! - YUMMY!

  • whats the point in showing us that fruit, when it is not available anywhere near us.

    so pedantic.

  • Thanks for taking the time to share Jenna and open our minds to new possibilities! You rule!

  • It grows in Thailand and also in India. It is so yummy and sweet. In India they use it to make ice cream.

  • YUM that looks incredible!
