I have two questions:

1. What in car mount you use? How is it called?

2. And do I know definitely need this GPS attachment plugged in USB? I s there no other way how to get GPS program inside PSP memory card with all Europe maps?

I got maps and gps working but I can't get geodata or poi's that part is so complicated and I can't get voice navigation which I dunno if it's possible.

if you are living in Europe you won't be able to get geodata. Honestly I don't know if voice navigation is possible.

@LaMathias Well I actually live in NY in the U.S so it should work I have a file called geodata.dat from the program and have placed it in multiple parts on the memory stick according to the wikipedia guide of mapthis and none of them worked..

Do you need to have a hacked psp with custom firmware to be able to use the gps.

No. You can buy a psp-gps pack officialy. This was early version of gps running on custom fw, because at the time that video was made, there was no official software for gps.

Sorry, I don't know where to get official software. It was in a psp gps pack. You can probably buy it at your local hi-fi store or try to get it of internet :-).

the thing on the top of the psp is the gps 290, is it made for psp, supposed to work only in japan, but come on, we had to make it work(u need cfw on your psp, map this, and the gps 290

search in google find MapThis!put dat in ur psp in gameXX in folder game.download gdml for map. that`s not in ur psp.just install it in ur pc for searching map.

No, its a Global Positioning Device, not a WiFi device.

Although the unit on top of the PSP is a GPS device, the PSP itself does include WiFi capabilities. I use mine to surf the web at home.

If it is an official sony fw then you must downgrade it first ( or use pandora's bat.). There is no other option for gps to run on official fw since mapthis is a homebrew program.

U need oe-a custom firmware. No original sony fw will work. I am to vocations so I am unable to send u the files at the moment so visit deniska's homepage. It is all writen there how-to and what you need. Also compiled software is there. Have fun! mikey

As long as it is custom FW it is compatibile with mapthis and psp290 (also compatibile whit original sony FW but there is no software to run the receiver or a mapping program). And basically 3.30oe-a is the same as 3.40 oe-a :D

There is no need doing that! I have 3.40oe-a on my psp and is working perfectly. I am using 303.prx and 271.prx and it works fine. If you want me to, I can send u the files I am using and you'll see it is working fine (send my ur mail). And CFW psp can't brick (theoreticaly) :D
