  • I had no idea that this song was a cover of a song by The Postal Service. Having only known this version for years, I can say that for those who this one first, this version will be the most beautiful of the various covers produced so far. For me it's not even close, Iron and Wine took this rather good song and made it truly great and much more emotive.

  • @ReeneiVaLentine No this song was originally made by the Postal Service.

  • i was wondering.. is the song "such great heights" by the band "Confide" is a revival of this song? i'm confused! can anyone tell?

  • @ReeneiVaLentine I've never heard of that cover but the song is originally by The Postal Service!

  • Ok, I am a very, very mellow person when it comes to music, but this is excessive. This is hard to listen to due to the fact that I am constantly waiting. It's not bad, just not as good as the original. Also key factor is that monotone works in the other version, but this very acoustical slow version sounds really bad with the small pitch change.

  • @aForkandaSpoon I agree with you, I definitely like the original better! As a matter of fact I just posted a cover of this version of the song, but played it at a much more reasonable tempo haha. You should check it out if you get a minute!

  • Every version of this song I love too! (YES even the Confide version) Each has its own vibe but each is beautiful nonetheless.

  • Iron and wine made this song first dude!

  • this song was what me and my husband had our first dance too at our wedding =)

  • I want to dance to this at my wedding

  • Love it love it sooooo much, never get tired of this, its soo soothing and comforting, thankyou xx

  • 33 people are telling us to come down now.

  • I dislike this cover and prefer Confide's and Postal Service's versions more, but I respect your preferences for enjoying this even though I do not. Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

  • I want this to be played at my funeral.

  • Such a gorgeous song <3

    Loving every cover

  • k rika rola me facina muy relajante y de verdad romantico

  • "Im thinking its a sign that the freckles in our eyes are mirror images and when we kiss they're perfectly aligned. And I .. have to speculate, that God himself did make us into corresponding shapes like puzzles from the clay." <3 <3 <3

  • i love this song. it made me cry when nora on parenthood was born

  • I didn't say it was. I said that's what it made me think of.

  • 32 people have never been in love...

  • its a beautiful song no matter who covered it, it would give me that smile with a slight tear that it always does even no matter who sang it. however this guys voice is just ....hypnotyzing, calming, i like it!

  • @skypirate72686 check out the Confide version, you might take your comment back. .

  • Beautiful.

  • I heard this on 92.5 (The River), a great radio station with an air presence in Massachusetts AND they are online, this past Monday and loved it immediately. I knew I had heard the song before and I am glad to find the original because I liked that VERY much but this is SUCH a great re-make. I am not sold on the other Iron & Wine songs but have listened to only a few...

  • I miss you, and I hope that whatever you are doing, dispite the distance between us, you think of me just as often as I think of you. You made me feel special for the first time in my life, and I am so thankful that God put you in my life. I hope you see this. <3

  • I know the Postal Service wrote it, but this version suits the lyrics so much more.

  • So hard to sing along with, He surprises you by how slow he is xD

  • I love Iron and Wine as well as The Postal Service! How did it take a Misfits episode to lead me here?

  • @kamerinbrown XD youtube works in mysterious ways.....

  • It makes my little cousin sleep. And me writing my thesis ;)

  • it makes my little cousin sleep. And me writing my thesis :)))

  • 29 people don't have Freckles in their eyes. So fuck them. :D Also- Did the TV show Misfits lead anyone else here? :3

  • Lyrics like these belong with a slow, mellow tone like this. Not with a fast, techno-type instrumental.

  • We used the Iron & Wine for our wedding processional (it's Our Song) and the Postal Service version as our recessional. Love them both, especially back-to-back. <3

  • 28 people can go FUCK THEMSELVES

  • Hey all you people who are having arguments about this and the Postal Service Version, listen to either of the songs, they're both beautiful, they're both unique, and you have the right to like one over the other, but man, Let's not argue about it, let's all enjoy the music and have a good time.

  • Amazing cover.

  • ok, ok so postal service also has another version of the song. yeah...bla, bla, bla.. people please lets do not 'troll' about this. ok if you like TPS version then go ahead and click on that video. in case you have not realize this is I&W version, therefore people that see this prefer this version. if you like TPS then go ahead and watch that video. btw I really like both bands.

  • Comment removed

  • Yukkk...don't fuck with the originals.

  • Eh, I like the TPS version a bit more.

  • i like both versions... you can listen to each and have totally different moods. this one is like a swwet version and the other is more upadee. theyre awesome(: <3

  • Streetlight Manifesto's version is by far the best.

  • This song is like a gentle caress, a sweet connection with heaven, thank you, xx

  • i much prefer this version.

much more soothing and can make you smile.

  • Just totally awesome,LOVE this to pieces of my Heartspeak,LOVE IT!!!(-: xx

  • @kyriakosgrr It would be nice if everybody could spell correctly.

  • BIGBROWNROCKYKYLE

  • Confide and Streetlight Manifesto did a good job of this also.

  • @AngieXBananie confide? no just no

  • @quinlynnes Huh. Thats funny. I didn't get the memo that you could dictate my opinion.

    But no seriously, up yours.

  • i love you most:)

  • such a beautiful cover. makes me think of lying in bed with the guy that im in love with and him softly murmuring in my ear

  • @DutchiePZ Mee tooooo, yeah I WISH he was here with me now....love it

  • @Liv3xWir3 lolololol

  • It seems like The Postal Service wrote this song specifically for Sam. It feels so much more natural like this. I love the original, but this one has something special. <3

  • I like Confide's version of the song better. Hate if you want, i'm just stating my opinion.

  • This song makes me want to sneeze cheese and not say "excuse me"!

  • @Liv3xWir3 if you get bored, change your mind and check out some other songs. i find it hard for people who truly appreciate good musicians to think that Iron and Wine isn't worth another listen. trapeze swinger and boy with a coin offer a little difference.

  • oh hello 4 minutes and 15 seconds of endless chills

  • 25 people have never been in love....

  • the part on leaving it on her machine is pure genius, I love this bearded guy..hope he really left it on her machine and not BS-ing us all! thanks for uploading.

  • Postal Service wrote and performed an amazing song, but personally I like the Iron & Wine version much better. It seems more mellow and beautiful... ♥

  • @Wafflezroxlol285 fuck mellow, and beautiful. I love the Confide version waaayyyy beeettteerrr!

  • I cannot stop singing this song, so much better than any other one.

  • This is a lovely calm version, but it's too slow for my taste.

  • don't forget the confide cover

  • Hey ... could you allow this great track for external Devices (Iphone) in settings please? :)

  • @shankra1 O>o

    what do you meeean?

  • @calimachos123 when u change your settings of this track, there is an option (the last one on the bottom) where you can allow this track on mobiles. ;)

  • Matt nathanson also uses the last part the They will see us waving....in Bent

  • I love The Postal Service to death (anything Ben Gibbard does, really, I guess) but I love this version better. It's soothing.

  • i love this song by Confide!!!

  • Who HASN'T covered this fucking song.

    This is my favorite version.

  • I like Confide's version better

  • @SheStandsInTheRain That's probably because you have a massive gaping vagina.

  • @boxofcookies yeah, thanks. -.-

  • WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOw

  • This was me and my almost gf's song. then bam we were done. It hurts to hear this song

  • I just listened to this for the for time and I have to say it moved me in ways that I have not been moved in a long time. A dear friend said it was happy and sad at the same time... < so true...

  • I like this alot more than the Postal Service version. It's pretty and slow and relaxing. It makes me think of true love, where as the Postal Service's makes me think of jumped into, teenage love.

  • @pouncerp Hey not all teenage love is "jumped into" :(

  • The cover of Such Great Heights by The Act of Congress is my favorite version of this song.

  • i like the postal service version better, this is so boring compared to its version. But that's just my opinion.

  • The postal Service version is like at least 5x better. When I heard this I was like this sounds cool then heard the postal service version right after it was became very apparent this was a cover. Not dissing Iron and Wine but Postal Service version is just all around better.

  • Postal Service version = Amazing in general

Iron and Wine version = Amazing if you want to just be chill and relax

Streetlight Manifesto version = Amazing if you want a super upbeat version with the most epic horn intro ever! seriously, please look it up!

  • Comment removed

  • @ducttape117 I would like to add to my own comment.....something I JUST discovered....

Confide version = Nothing less than an insult to this song, the Postal Service, and all talented musicians in general. It should never be listened to by anyone. Ever.

  • @ducttape117 Love the horn intro on the Streetlight Manifesto version.

  • AAAAAmazing

  • i personally think confide done the best version :)

  • @Moshinmysocks me too! All 3 versions are absolutely amazing though

  • @slickintern yeah, they all done there own thing with it :)

  • @Moshinmysocks as far as metal, yeah. but holy shit this song sends chills down my spine.

  • I hate this song

  • this song made me tear :')

  • ITS THE HEART OF BEAUTIFUL

  • Why do I like this so much o_o

  • i like confides version=)

  • @dustingho93 me too i love the double bass :)

  • I really think that this song is too perfect-both versions.

  • i love this cover but I do think it's a bit TOO slow. It would be so much better if it was sped up a little bit, IMO.

  • @charlotte07071 Streetlight Manifesto does a Ska cover which is simply orgasmic

  • The Postal Service released Such Great Heights in 2003.

Iron & Wine released Such Great Heights in 2006.

Therefore, Iron & Wine is capable of time travel and wrote the original before The Postal Service.

  • @spectraljew Actually.. this cover was originally released in 2004 on the "The B Sides" bonus album with the vinyl version of Postal Service's "Give Up." It was a gap of a few months, not a few years. :P

  • @jjfpeep I blame the theory of relativity. months, years, it's all relative.

  • @spectraljew lol

  • @spectraljew haha I honestly believed this *was the original

  • @spectraljew His cover was actually on the original B-side by Postal Service you know. But yeah, i think he delivers this song better than they do, but fair play to Postal Service for writing it, it's a beautiful song.

  • @spectraljew lol my friend, you suck balls... "Also in 2002, Beam recorded a cover of The Postal Service's then-unreleased song "Such Great Heights". Rather than being included on an Iron & Wine release, the track was initially included as a b-side of the original version by The Postal Service." - wikipedia

  • @sziszi2000 Congrats, you managed to add information to my post. You get an imaginary medal.

  • @spectraljew No, but this one is much better. (imo)

  • @spectraljew lol!

  • @spectraljew my mind was like WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA- and then it exploded.

  • @spectraljew Actually this version is present in Garden State (2004)'s Soundtrack 2006 was the year they released it on their own LP...

  • @kattooMC ...was that really worth mentioning?

  • @spectraljew Ben Folds did a version in 2008, I believe, which is my favorite. But the cool thing is how verhy different all three versions are :)

  • @spectraljew no lol.

  • @spectraljew from wikipedia:

"Also in 2002, Beam recorded a cover of The Postal Service's then-unreleased song "Such Great Heights". Rather than being included on an Iron & Wine release, the track was initially included as a b-side of the original version by The Postal Service"

  • @spectraljew confide did a cover to this in 2009

  • i love both (:

  • 19 people need to go jump off a building. How can they not like this? this version is great...really soothing.

  • every time i listen to this i think of my boyfriend...i cried halfway through it when he showed it to me the first time...the original couldnt do that...dont bs me tellin me this version isnt as gud

  • @chuckeetheegghead i hope your boyfriend cheats on you with your mother and gives u aids

  • @MunchlaxQueef22 oh im sorry...maybe then id feel ur pain..dont worry im sure ur mom was only slightly more attractive

  • This version does not stand out like the original. Sounds almost like every other mellow singer songwriter song.

  • Definitely like this version better. The slower tempo fits better with the lyrics if that makes any sense.

  • love this song, i just wish when people made videos, that they'd use spellchecker before publishing the lyrics. it's lovely anyway.....

  • Beautiful

  • Quite enjoyable. But I prefer the original. This is a little to slow.

  • Love this. The postal service original is much too electronic. Too sterile. This is the song a real-life boy would sing to me.

  • @meirles Just because something is electronic does not make it streile. Don't be so narrowminded. Why do you think Iron & Wine covered The Postal Service, because they hated it and thought it was sterile? Didn't think so.

  • This is a great cover, the original is also great. I prefer the Streetlight Manifesto cover XD Mostly because I play a horn. Definitely worth looking into if you enjoy this song

  • 18 people did not see us waving from such great heights

  • I love this song, but after listening to all the other covers I couldn't sing along with this one. It's too slow.

  • one of the greatest covers ever, hands down. i don't care for the original much but respect it obviously...and..this is solid gold. the garden state soundtrack intro'd me to many artists including Iron & Wine

  • people wh think this weird band made this first are mental. the oringinal is better

  • Great cover.

  • I personally like this song better than the original.

  • @clayisajedi444 me too

  • @clayisajedi444

this is too slow for me :/ i like the upbeat version alot more.

  • I like this version. I like the Ben Folds version a little more. I haven't heard Confide's version. But, I love the original postal service version the most. It's a great song no matter who sings it though.

  • great song

  • "Iron & Wine did a cover of the song which was featured on the soundtrack for Garden State. It was released as one of the B-sides of the original Postal Service single." -Wikipedia.

  • I love this version. <3 <3 Peaceful.

  • Wow,

    this is pretty good(:

  • Sooo relaxing, I feel like I'm on a boat, floating away on the ocean.

  • I like Confides cover more ^.^ tis good tho

  • One of the best songs to listen to before you go to sleep...... that's what I'm doing right now.. yawn..

any other suggestions?.... postdata and bon iver are good too

  • I love how it's gentle enough to fall asleep to yet meaningful enough to make you want to listen hard.

  • This song is so bittersweet, it always makes me cry whenever I listen to it.

  • @equiinom especially when the other puzzle piece isn't there anymore.. :(

  • i love this song ^.^

its really sweet and a great song to listen to lying in bed before you go to sleep :')

  • Dude postal worker is a great band

  • @Anonymous122131

Ummm, This is Iron & Wine and the band that also did a cover of this is The Postal Service. :)

  • @WearingOff hahahahahaha....

  • its like an angel singing on your shoulder

  • such a pretty song. perfect to fall asleep to<3

  • @ansteadallday lol, okay. whatever you say, buddy.

  • @ansteadallday Your 'Fucking terrible' get a music taste.

  • i hate postal service and iron and wine!!! i love confide to covered this such great song!!!

  • i like the cover of this by postalman but i like this one too

  • @schlegelt postal man O.o? its postal service...

  • i hate postal service, love this

  • @rymaniscool you sir are gay

  • streetlight kills this

  • @metallicjohn ska is shit

  • i love iron and wine and the postal service. this is the the first time ive heard this cover and it is so amazing. so beautiful :>

  • @TheClosetGirl8 i perfer this one

  • whoa. this song is so chill. now i feel chill. nice ^.^

  • i like all three versions of this song, i like I&W when im just chilling at home, but i like confides when im outside(heard such great heights live at the warped tour by them) but i like the postal services version, when im just doing little things around the house, or in a kind of small inside area
