this song helped me understand codependence a great deal. I could use my spouse as a scapegoat. "bury all your secrets in my skin walk away with innocence and leave me with my sin" "so break yourself against my stones, spit your pity in my soul, you never needed any help, you sold me out to save yourself" not to say a person should stay in an abuse situation, but after I really understood these words I understood my part in the situation much better.
