Johnny Lee had nothing but hits. Urban Cowboy really put him and Mickey Gilley into the Country Hall of Fame. Lookin for Love.....put it totally together. This song is excellent and what happened to Country Music.....after the highs of 80's?
@1Indianadude There were 3 airings! I thought I had missed it too, but luckily it was on the next night, and then again on Sunday night. Such a good movie.
@TheWilliamjsmith I'll be glad to do that little thing that you ask....and please take ALL of my comments off of your channel..thank you... have a good life!!
Many of the legendary Nashville country songwriters passed away in the 90s and 2000s. A good example would be Harlan Howard, who wrote many great country standards. These new songwriters don't understand country music and that's why they recycle sensitive 80s heavy metal power ballads and bonehead southern rock songs by artists such as Lynyrd Skynyrd. Real country music still beats in the hearts of the living legends such as Ray Price, Johnny Rodriguez, Johnny Lee, Haggard & Jones
Thanks for posting this terrific and sadly forgotten song. I remember hearing it for the first time in the Robert Blake (yes, that Robert Blake) film, "Coast to Coast."
Regretfully I'd never heard of Johnny Lee until I saw him performing this song on 'The Fall Guy' today on ITV2 which is re-running the series. This made me search him out here on youtube and I have found he has recorded some good songs. A talented singer. Another one to add to my download list and also to my favourites which includes Glen Campbell, The Eagles and Alan Jackson.
True country. Whatever happened to that sound. Taylor go home, go back to whatever do used to do. George we love you, Johnny lee we love the voice. Bring back what country use to sound like.

I'm from NJ, and I can remember traveling to SC to see my grandmother and hearing this song on the radio when I got into NC/SC
