Best. Ridely. Fight. EVER. It actually looks like it can be hard! I also love the new bomb attack that when you're charged and then go into a ball, it shoots out five bombs into the air.
Ah, yes, the Ridley section of Metroid 2. Brings back fond memories of fighting Pi Metroids, Father Brain, The King Metroid, and riding my rainbow unicorn under the sea... Good times.
@KABIATRUS1 That would mean that it occurred before Metroid, which is not the case, as the events in Metroid ARE the events in Metroid: Zero Mission. In fact, Metroid: Zero Mission is a remake, albeit an expanded one.
This is amazingly well done, I can't imagine how much coding he had to put into this. As a game programmer this is the kind of stuff that I aspire to produce for my portfolio.

Have you even played Metroid 2? It was like Super Metroid, except not fun, nor well designed. A lot of the areas in it consist of the same exact tiles, with no way to track where you've been.
It was a step up from Metroid, except in level design. The Metroid hunting thing was dumb too.
I like both tunes quite a bit, personally. Ridley is not in Metroid 2. Ridley is in a tech demo. But then again, Metroid: Zero Mission was a remake of Metroid 1; since when was there a Mecha-Ridley in Metroid 1? What about space pirates in general? I am pretty sure there were no giant worms in Metroid 1, either. Remakes do not have to contain only the same things as their originals. Still, again, this was only a tech demo.
Doctor M64 did an amazing job with this! I only wish Nintendo would make an official remake so I could buy it on virtual console or for GBA/DS! I never got a chance to play it. If only I had been older when it came out...
If you charge your beam and hold a direction when you morph, the bombs will be tossed in that direction. That trick does not work in official Metroid games, but DoctorM64 based it on the fact that you can spew bombs in Super Metroid by morphing with a charged beam.
I mean once it goes through the company and everything with the changes added. I mean you still get points for the idea. But then again your right, he won't be able to sell it or anything else. There is also no gurantee that he is going to get recognition for it
I don't really think Ridley would be necessary for Metroid II, there weren't any pirates in that one. It was about the Metroids and their homeworld SR388, but this game is due for a remake.

When will this be Done?

With fan games, one should never ask for a completion date. Just check DoctorM64's blog for updates as they happen.

I think that if you took something from a COPYRIGHTED material that belongs to someone else, and used it, WOULDN'T YOU GET SUED?????
Spartista7 3 years ago
That's why i said once it goes through the company. I am not saying he can make his own game out of it.
mekaal 3 years ago
dude, i like the way ridley functions in this one. no more of that simple left right, up douwn stuff. The animations look incredible!
monkeypoo1993 3 years ago
unfortuneatly for the riley part if Nintendo is making it hell be there hes sort of the "bad guy" of the story since hes in every game
also dont you think it would be funny if they put dark samus

Because the full game isn't released, and won't be for quite a while.
