The final quote sums it up: "Another world is not only possible, she's on her way and on a quiet day I can hear her breathing." (Arundhati Roy) Beautiful.
thanks God someone is starting to make some sense. We are currently living in a make believe world... we believe we can trash our planet and still live in it.
peak oil was reached in the summer of 2008 when the prices started climbing towards 200.00 a barrell. Cheap easy oil is gone. The economic crash is the only thing that stopped it. Now is the breathing room to make the changes needed to adapt to the new world we are in.

peak oil smeek oil, bring on free energy but stop spouting shite about a peak oil driven crash. there are oil wells that have been capped for 50 years all over the world. and global warming, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
you know I'd love to live in one of these towns but not if they full of closed minded, politically correct eco-douchbags like this character!!
Great film..I converted my home to a net-zero solar powered home that uses no oil or gas...I made a video about it called, "Preparing for Peak Oil"...
This is the type of positive thinking that can turn what is a biological necessity from negative defeated enslavement to positive successful freedom! Awesome!
So good to see there's something tangible we can do - such a cool frame to use: "life could actually be better without oil". Really want to get involved.
the u.s. is now in an economic "downturn" ---just like he says in his book: globalization makes it so collapse can happen quite quickly. the nature of humanity is that we don't see things right away --the descent is starting rapidly. can the resilient humans keep their step? Stay tuned!!
at 4.35 there is a link to what I beleive to be the documentary "End of Suburbia" having manged to decipher the address i get youtube put "this video is private" what does this imply? can I get round this? if not is there anywhere else i can view it.. or else i may end up having to purchase ;-)
Marion King Hubbert might take offense at not being credited with bringing peak oil public. Other than that this chap is doing a fantastic job, we need more like him.
Because there are powerful people who pay off the right people to pay off other people like scientists to perpetuate the idea that climate change is bullshit and there is some hidden agenda.
Unfortunately, many people buy into that trype, and that makes it very difficult to motivate people to begin work on the infrastructures needed for other energy sources, etc.
