well you sit in the street, they have to clear the street, if they ask people to get up and they won't, they have to move them. No matter what the police do, it's like a soccer match, the players fall down and hold their knee like omg I've been kicked. Whatever.
And code pink...I'm against the war but their disruption of hearings is over the top and unacceptable. The senate isn't a protest zone, disrupt the senate and you are impeding the democracy you claim to advocate for.
all hippies do is sit around and protest, and hope maybe the next generation will be able to do something. Well, I say to hell with the waiting, we need to stop the NAU and its lies now, rather than pawn it off on the next generation. IT IS OUR COUNTRY, NOT THE GOVERNMENT, but, the constitution is apparently just a "God damn piece of paper" accoriding to Mr. Bush.
all they did was sit in the middle of the street and probably at most some of them mite of spent a night in jail...... that didnt take alot of guts..... just a lot of estrogen.... they were just a bunch of hippies
so u can hate on the war big deal, war never is pretty hense it being war DUH, but that doesnt mean u should hate on the troops, they get told orders n have to do it, besides its not like alot of them wanna be there anyways.
As I said before...my comment got deleted earlier. Which is crap, there was no vulgar language or anything. But they deleted my response. This is crap and not right. I like the channel but come one dont get rid of the responses you dont like.
Wow. Could you be any more ignorant? As much as you ultra-right-wingers would love to put that spin on things, you couldn't be any more wrong. It's the fact that GWB and his cronies would love people not to talk about the deaths of the invasion of a country that had nothing to do with 9/11...just as they didn't want people to talk about the deaths due to the mishandling of the Hurrican Katrina disaster. The so-called "war on terrorism" is a sham...it's a revenue-driven initiative designed to...
(cont.) ...make Cheney and the CEO's of Halliburton, and the other military contractors rich, at the expense of the American taxpayer, and the cost of many American soldiers' lives...as well as many innocent Iraqi civillian lives...and even the lives of Iraqi soldiers, who were only guilty of trying to defend their country from an invading force. Impeach Bush and Cheney, or set a precedent that it's okay for government to be dishonest and unaccountable.
This is wonderful but it needs to be much more widespead to make a difference. The anti-war movement needed to bring this country to its knees. There needed to be enormous protests, paralyzing strikes, large scale, unignorable civil unrest. Considering how wrong we've been, the response has been very tepid. I thank all these people for their efforts, I wish there had been more of them - maybe we could stopped the war and brought the people who lied us into it to justice.
I think you're right. The impact is happening but people can't see it yet. We've run this war by printing money and running up a huge amount of debt - basically by taxing future generations. I think the only things that could wake people up to make the kind of needed protests would be economic collapse or a re-instatement of the draft. There's nothing approaching the political will to bring back the draft, so that leaves economic ruin to be our alarm clock.
What was your comment? I'll make an effort to thumb it up since I hate how easy it is for people to be silenced, regardless of whether I agree with what they say.
I think they should push congress to re-instate the draft. These morons in America will only wake up when they start collectively paying a price. As long as its a handful of people from poor communities who are serving and dieing, no one cares. Send some rich white guy's kids into iraq and watch them return home with no legs, and the war will end real fast.

A bunch of radicals. A reminds me of communists in the sixties. "America is sleeping", and you have to do wake it up by blocking the streets. Real mature.
exactly the same complaints from way back in 90 - bad cop / no donut demo. folks who were not even protesting were swept up in the sweeps w/out adequate warning. part of the lawsuit which was brought against sfpd stated that adequate warning would be given henceforth. even lawsuits don't always get the message across!
"For those who thought a Democratic congress would end the war in Iraq, think again: their new budget proposes supplemental funds totaling about $150 billion in 2008 and $50 billion in 2009 for Iraq. This is in addition to the ordinary Department of Defense budget of more than $500 billion, which the Democrats propose increasing each year just like the Republicans."
If you protest the war, then protest the military's actions in the atmosphere.
Why is Cheney still inpower?
Why is it necessary for the military to create artificial clouds containing barium, etc? Farmers, solar technology users need sunlight. The planet needs sunlight!
