It's factoring in aero dynamics, numbers, the time it takes for parts to respond and hit certain readings, how much power is getting down, the gears, the transmission design, the natural weight of the vehicle, etc.
trans am dont have a 6.0 they have the ls1 320hp for the ram air and 305hp for trans am, yea the cobra is 4.6 supercharged wit 390hp. which cobra makes more hp at the wheels then chevy and the trans am heavyer car.

(LS1s) is that ASR feature. You can take off without spinning wheels. I have driven my friends 02 Camaro and it does work off the line better than spinning the whole way off the line with out it. You can hear the Cobra spinning the all of first. Good luck trying to grip lol.
I just know that all my friend's buddies were using that feature at the track. All have tried everything and they say to use it off the line. They swore by it. I don't know. I only tried it a few times with my buddie's 02 SS. I did have a best 1/8 mile when used but missed 4th gear at the end. LOL.
Just because the Cobra lost doesn't mean its shit. Stock 385 hp and a few low dollar mods (intake, smaller S/C pulley, flash tuner and exhaust) can give it quite a boost. It could have been a horrible driver in the car too, but in the end the T/A won. That thing flew!
Which one had the supercharger? I think it was the mustang cause the Trans Am did a quick peel out and I think that would;ve activated it. Mach 1 has a 315HP 4.6 DOHC. The cobra has a blown 4.6 DOHC (03-04 only), 390 (underrated) HP. LS1 has 305-315 (underrated) HP. Most LS1's are 305-320 at the rear wheels, not fly. Mach's don't hang, and obviously neither do cobra's, unless they have a pully and tune.

Even the LT1 FBODY smoked mustangs, there wasn't a Cobra that could hang with the LT1 (stock for stock) until the '95 CobraR (more expensive) and the '96 Cobras were produced that they could hang with the LT1 (even them it was a driver's race). The LT1 straight up walked all over the Mustang GTs (even the '98 generation had trouble with the older LT1 and couldn't even compare to the LS1 stock for stock.
man im sorry to say dispacement is different but the chevy does it with one cam and ford does it with 4 cams and a supercharger. gm makes the same hp with a dohc v6 as ford does with a v8 man face it fords been behind for years.

Anything can push 1500hp if you know how to build up the engine smart guy. Saleen is not a "production car" it's after-market, they take the "production" mustang and add the after-market accessories.
You're neglecting to mention Lingenfelter and Callaway they easily put out cars that make well over 550hp. Face it, stock for stock FBODYs out-perform Mustang GTs. It wasn't until the '03 Cobra that Mustangs from the FACTORY could hang with the LS1.
Yea i will give ford credit they create a lot of power with only 282ci engines but use induction to create that power so comparisons are kind of unfair. i have a 383 LS1 stroker with moser 12 bolt rear end and sts rear mount kit and push 601HP havent lost to a cobra yet and i just outran a new shelby GT500 so if you force induct the GM V-8's its gonna outrun stangs. nice t/a sounds pretty good running a cam or just a loud exhaust =), The cobras are nice cars with a pulley swap they make some great numbers. But so can the ls1 with a cam/head combo and be equal again. When it comes to who has the fastest car it usually comes done to who ever has the most theyr'e willing to spend

One advantage Trans Ams and Camaros have
(LS1s) is that ASR feature. You can take off without spinning wheels. I have driven my friends 02 Camaro and it does work off the line better than spinning the whole way off the line with out it. You can hear the Cobra spinning the all of first. Good luck trying to grip lol.

I just know that all my friend's buddies were using that feature at the track. All have tried everything and they say to use it off the line. They swore by it. I don't know. I only tried it a few times with my buddie's 02 SS. I did have a best 1/8 mile when used but missed 4th gear at the end. LOL.

Just because the Cobra lost doesn't mean its shit. Stock 385 hp and a few low dollar mods (intake, smaller S/C pulley, flash tuner and exhaust) can give it quite a boost. It could have been a horrible driver in the car too, but in the end the T/A won. That thing flew!

Which one had the supercharger? I think it was the mustang cause the Trans Am did a quick peel out and I think that would;ve activated it. If the Cobra had a FUCKIN SUPERCHARGER and still lost damn thats hella sad. Not to say the Cobra is a bad car cause I like them but I'm a bigger fan of the Trans Am anyway.

Stock for stock? The biggest dependent factor is the ALL-IMPORTANT driver mod- which most will agree that the Cobra was lacking. It's more challenging to launch the IRS suspension the Cobras have, a friend switched to solid rear and with some upgrades and some squeeze ran 10.89 1/4.

Those '03-'04 Cobras (and Mach 1's for that matter) have excellent motors! Stock for stock the Mach 1 N/A 4.6 vs an LS1 F-body is a drivers race!
As for the Cobra, Ford built these cars specifically to beat LS1 F-bodies. They are easy to make big power with bolt-ons.
Put a S/C pulley, headers, and exhaust and the Cobra will easily make over 400whp.
Oh yeah, F-bodies were axed in '02 and it wasn't until '03 when Ford finally built a competitor...

Mach 1 has a 315HP 4.6 DOHC. The cobra has a blown 4.6 DOHC (03-04 only), 390 (underrated) HP. LS1 has 305-315 (underrated) HP. Most LS1's are 305-320 at the rear wheels, not fly. Mach's don't hang, and obviously neither do cobra's, unless they have a pully and tune.

The only way ford can do anything to keep up with GM is by having to add superchargers. Oh and the new Z06 puts down 505 hp and will whip the shit out of a Cobra. Its not always hp and torque. Even the LT1 FBODY smoked mustangs, there wasn't a Cobra that could hang with the LT1 (stock for stock) until the '95 CobraR (more expensive) and the '96 Cobras were produced that they could hang with the LT1 (even them it was a driver's race). The LT1 straight up walked all over the Mustang GTs (even the '98 generation had trouble with the older LT1 and couldn't even compare to the LS1 stock for stock.

in all honesty Ford has always toped chevy off the factory production line sense the saleen model has been sold, Saleen mustangs tho more expensive has always had a edge over any T/A or Camaro from factory this years Saleen is the fastest everyday car when comparing it to mustang/camar/t/a or american muscle in general with 550hp from the line GM is still to top that in a normal production line of cars.

Anything can push 1500hp if you know how to build up the engine smart guy. Saleen is not a "production car" it's after-market, they take the "production" mustang and add the after-market accessories.
You're neglecting to mention Lingenfelter and Callaway they easily put out cars that make well over 550hp. Face it, stock for stock FBODYs out-perform Mustang GTs. It wasn't until the '03 Cobra that Mustangs from the FACTORY could hang with the LS1.

Yea i will give ford credit they create a lot of power with only 282ci engines but use induction to create that power so comparisons are kind of unfair. i have a 383 LS1 stroker with moser 12 bolt rear end and sts rear mount kit and push 601HP havent lost to a cobra yet and i just outran a new shelby GT500 so if you force induct the GM V-8's its gonna outrun stangs. But the 1994 BOSS is fucking awesome i saved the page myself 1.9 secs!!! would piss myself!!!
