What makes this one really neat is the fact that it's a single phase version, which is not only a rarity to find in an SD-10, but also in Hawaii (as most are three phase)! The windup had me curious since it sounded like the startup pattern of a repulsion induction motor (with brushes), so after looking at it on the map, you can clearly see the single transformer feeding this thing, with only two wires going into the weather head on the service entrance. Nice catch!

I grew up with one of these things about 30 yards from my house. Yes...they are LOUD! The walls would shake!
