Hell yea dude and Jamaica is not the start of ska ska is a mix of so many different styles of music that it cant be cited at any one place but the most noticable part of ska is its blues feel and musical styles.

I agree that Ska's roots are in Calypso and Mento, which are forms of Caribbean Folk Music as well as American Rhythm and Blues, but Ska itself was born in Jamaica. One of Ska's notable attributes is that is Jamaica's first indigenous style of music.
