@awesomegunz Do you have proof of god outside of religous text which has been peer reviewed? Humans 4 closest relatives have 48 chromosones or 24 pairs, humans have 23 pairs or 46 chromosones. Since species cannot survive losing a chromosone without facing extinction one of the chromosones had to fuse (seen previously in other species). So looking at the human genome we can see that genome #2 has fused with genome #3. Logic/modern science will always prevail over an incredibly primitive book.

But i accept things like the theories of evolution and the big bang because there is overwhelming evidence for them. A being, who, by definition cannot be proven to exist (and doesn't, seeing as "existence" means within the universe) , however, does not have overwhelming evidence, and so i wait until there is evidence. The point I'm making is that for me to be converted, the video is telling me that to see a sign of God I first have to believe in him and then he'll be revealed to me. But for me, unless I see a sign of God, I have no reason to believe. It becomes a circular argument. I don't believe things unless I have substantial evidence for them, and my scruitiny of the evidence increases with the importance of the matter at hand.

They have no more verification than their assertion. At least science confirms what it finds, and constantly seeks new data. Since species cannot survive losing a chromosone without facing extinction one of the chromosones had to fuse (seen previously in other species). So looking at the human genome we can see that genome #2 has fused with genome #3. Logic/modern science will always prevail over an incredibly primitive book.

Right, the intentions of the heart really are where sins manifest. Most the time, people don't do what they really want because of social consequences. The only difference between people who harbor murderous feelings and someone who acts on them, is the former wasn't in a situation that allowed them to carry it out. This is why I think Christ denounced good works without faith. To have faith in YHWH/Love means you won't have hateful intentions to act on under any circumstance.

If you really want salvation, to change your behavior to a less destructive path, then gaining gnosis of your existential connection to others is the way to do it. @chromeninjar3d And yes, I know it's "easy" to believe in such a thing. I could believe in leprechauns too, if i wanted to. It would be equally as easy. But i accept things like the theories of evolution and the big bang because there is overwhelming evidence for them. A being, who, by definition cannot be proven to exist (and doesn't, seeing as "existence" means within the universe) , however, does not have overwhelming evidence, and so i wait until there is evidence. It's as simple as that.

The point I'm making is that for me to be converted, the video is telling me that to see a sign of God I first have to believe in him and then he'll be revealed to me. But for me, unless I see a sign of God, I have no reason to believe. It becomes a circular argument. I don't believe things unless I have substantial evidence for them, and my scruitiny of the evidence increases with the importance of the matter at hand.

However I cannot believe in something until I see a sign of it. We should not believe in things without evidence for their existence AND the amount and quality of evidence increases with the importance of the matter; extra-ordinary claims require extra-ordinary evidence. I can't just choose to believe something because I WANT to, I have to see

@RepaleoN I would say I am in agreement with you. The mistake people make is to say, "well science hasn't answered that question yet, therefore God did it." They have no more verification than their assertion. At least science confirms what it finds, and constantly seeks new data. In fact, the scientific method SEEKS information that is contrary to it's claims as a method of verification. Anyway, none of us really know at this point, and I'm quite ok with that. Cheers!
