yes the french rifle of WW1 was the lebel made in 1886, best of his time when created, still very good in 1914, but it seems like they gave it a magazine capacity of 6 whereas it could contain 1O bullets.

This looks promising. Nobody seems to have captured the carnage and horror of World War One sufficiently in video game form, let's hope this game can do it right!

One thing that would really win me over, though, would be a German campaign. The German Imperial forces of WWI were no guiltier than any other forces in the war, so it wouldn't be taboo to let us play as them.

This game makes me wonder what the other fronts of WWI would look like in games...

@halo9449 Most of the prussian forces, no indeed. Most of the civilian losses of the war were from famine and spanish flu... But what happened to entire villages in Belgium, and France, though low in numbers when compared to deaths by flu , famine or even artillery fire ( only in invaded countries for the latter), is precisely what one would call atrocities. The same has never been done by entente forces, as far as i know.

@Rangerfull3 What the Chaucat? Yeh it jammed somewhat easily. Though it was the closest thing to a sub-machine gun in 1916, and that alone makes it pretty l33t if it didn't jam in your face.

@MajBlood Well I heard that was horrid, but also that the standard lebel rifle wasn't so good, although it was sturdy, it was quickly outdated by 1888 by the German Mauser... I'm not sure how true this is.. just basing it on past knowledge :P

Fantastique! The Lebel 88 was the Sputnik of the 19th century and is the forerunner of all modern smokeless powder firearms. In some ways it was too sturdy and too well made, since the French saw little need to keep up with the innovations and developments of Mauser and others over the next decades. Still a workhorse though, and can still shoot good even today.

Pas mal, et rien que le fait de voir un Lebel dans un jeu m'éclate (j'étais bétatesteur sur The Trenches, et ils voulaient inclure l'armée française...bon, ça a planté). Franchement le terrain est canon mais j'ai quelques critiques:

-l'uniforme bleu horizon est bien trop propre, et la démarche bizarre (comment il porte sa canne à pêche le bougre?)

-Au niveau du rechargement, petit bug d'affichage sur la cartouche: il devrait la pousser avec la suivante, et elle disparaît

-la voix -_-'

Très sympa. La culasse à actionner manuellement, le soldat qui recharge ses cartouches une à une à une vitesse humainement faisable (à l'inverse de l'essentiel des FPS présents sur le marché...), tout ça participe à la pronfodneur de l'immersion.

J'ai hâte de voir ce que vous ferez avec les pitsolet Ruby, revolver 1892, Chauchat, Hotchkiss et autres...

outre les bugs graphiques & co, il faudra aussi travailler le "réalisme" (la crédibilité pour tout dire), savoir trouver l'équilibre entre le besoin de mettre en place en ambiance et la nécessité de paraitre crédible pour la majorité des joueurs.
