I think that must have been a few years earlier - he toured Europe in 80 or 81 but by the time he was to play Amsterdam (with McGuinn, Clarke, Hillman) the tour had been cancelled.....

Must have been at least two Euro-tours then! I was only 12 years old in -80 :-)
I checked again, and I'm pretty sure it was -89! Same year as the album "Another Night" was recorded (in Oslo, I think!)
I wouldn't mind travelling to Oslo to see Lee again!
