mel brooks counted his eggs before they hatched. started charging outrageous prices and wouldn't make the weekly grosses available to the public. he was really stingy about this show and it's a shame it closed after, what, a year or so. i was fortunate enough to catch it a few times on broadway and again when it toured. lovely show. very big spectacle.
