  • TY for the tutorial, went to a 50's party and my lady friend looked amazing thnx to you!!! TY!!!

  • I have bangs and they keep falling out of my curl, any suggestions?

  • WTF?? how do u make it look SO easy? O_O

  • VICTORY ROLLS ARE IMPOSSIBLE!

  • You're so stinkin' cute!

  • Has she deleted some of her video's?.. i'm sure some of the retro hair videos have gone?

  • dawh. you're so adorable.

  • Would this look okay with a fringe? I've got straight bangs and wanna try this style!

  • beautiful, I hope this works with my long hair.

  • Yeah,it looks so easy on your hair! My hair is very long and I have to roll it about 10 times.. Result=F@cked

  • you are stunning!

  • you make it look so easy! i've been trying all week but am worried my hair is too long? Do you think it's easier if the hair is shorter? Mine is almost down to my elbows. My main problem is keeping the 'space' in the roll as I go

    xox

  • what is the music!!!?? i am having a pin up party and i want a great play list, this would be fantastic for the party!

  • THANK YOU! This helped me a TON<3

Question...My hair is longer than yours, but could it still work? Would I just curl it a lot so that it's bouncier..or what? ahah :)

  • THE ONLY THINK KEEPING ME FROM THIS HAIRSTYLR IT REALY EXPOSES UR EARS N I HONESTLY HAVE MONKEY EARS UGH! :(

  • GAHH you're so beautiful and you make it look so easy! <3<3<3<3<3 I will keep trying.

  • I've been looking everywhere for vintage hair that doesn't take hours! Thank you thank you! I love it and it looks gorgeous on you! (You remind me of Caroline from Vampire Diaries...that's a compliment.) <3

  • I have a old picture of my great grandma and she had victory rolls.. It looked soo pretty :)

  • Thank you! This is amazing!! :)

  • Thanks so much for this tutorial! I have shoulder-length hair and I was worried it would be too short, but seeing this totally inspired me. My hair rocked last night :)

  • YOU'RE A LIFE SAVER. I WAS THE PRETTIEST GIRL ON HALLOWEEN. (,:

  • You seem to Lady Gaga :)

  • victory rolls are one of my favorite hairdo's for girls, you got it goin very well. congrats.

  • grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr i cant get the end of the hair to start the curl off.....i cant curl it under...any tips?

  • yay! thanks, youve helped so much. love it!

  • Your nose is perfect. Oh and love the hair ;)

  • I wear my hair like this to school ALL the time. There's people who love it and of course there's those people who make fun of me for wearing my hair like that. >.> Whatever. I really like this tutorial it helped me a lot. :)

  • @MissKaylaKitty Don't pay any attention to them, they are HATERS!! They hate on my hair all the time, and besides I believe these vintage styles look alot better than most hairstyles of today : )

  • @TheIndianDiva7 Agreed! I'm the only person who's into vintage style at my school. It's REALLY hard to find people with the same interests nowadays. :/ Aha well, my brothers are total greasers, but they don't really count. It would be nice to know some vintage girls in my city.

  • Where can i get a shirt like the one you're wearing?

  • That's exactly how my grandma wore her hair in all those old pictures.

What do you do if the hair in back won't stay curled all night, but you really need to frame your face?

  • omg.. you make it look so easy.. my curls are messy... =(

  • So beautiful!!

  • you make this look soo easy!

  • You're so freaking beautiful! :)

  • you're so gorgeous!

  • So I finally got the rolling part down and forming them...Now my problem is getting them even. I need help. :/ One's always more upright than the other or more big.

  • Hi, I've been trying to do victory rolls with my hair and they just never come out right. :/

Once I'm rolling it into the circle, by the time it gets to my head it doesn't form right. It's not poofed how it should be and I don't have that nice circle on top. It just dies in the process of being made. And I try to include my bangs but they never want to stay because the victory roll isn't right. Do you know what I may be doing wrong?

  • @seegerpatriot

    Maybe,

If you get some curl sculpting stuff (I use Curl Sculpting Cream-Gel from Garnier Fructis) to make your natural curls as defined as curling iron curls, then yah maybe.(:

  • what's the song? :D xx

  • what kind of rollers do you use?

  • Very beautiful!

  • i've been meaning to make a rita hayworth makeup video :)

  • love how the video moves hella fast like an oldies video too haha

  • is this danielle???

  • I tried a load of other videos for victory curls but this is the best one so far!! Thankyou so much, I have managed to achieve them for the first time (although a little messy) x x

  • Adorable

  • How do you make the circle though? I can't get the ends of my hair to go in, they just stick out. Its impossible to make the little loop you do which means I can't roll it at all

  • You make that look so easy!

  • you have such a beautiful face♥

you just pull of vintage so well,

    great tutorial btw♥

  • Loved this video, it's very much to the point. I thought the rolls came out great! Thank you, can't wait to try this look.

  • i adore your hair <3

  • I'm still victory roll-stupid. ;~; But I love this look!

  • such a fabulous tutorial!!

    you're absolutely gorgeous!!

    (:

  • i did my hair like this after watching your video. it did take a while like you said it would but it came out really good. me and my boy friend looked very cute together cuz he wears his hair in a pompador :)

  • I'm so glad to finally find a video with shorter hair! Everything I've seen so far has hair past the shoulder.

  • your so cute! :] i feel like i was watching a video from the 40's! :]

  • sweet! thank you so much for posting this, it's informative and to-the-point.

appreciate you speeding up the video so I can see what you're doing w/o listening to someone ramble on and on for 5 minutes.

  • how do you make sure not to totally ruin your hair with teasing? is there any way to get the teased hair untangled safely during washing for example? My hair is already thin and I can't afford to lose any more through tearing it out with a comba after teasing!!! HELP!! thanks for the great videos!!!

  • I like you because you comment back to us ; )

  • ~~~~~~~

IDK HOW U DO IT, EVERYTIME I TRY TO DO THESE THEY GET MESSED UP, ESPECIALLY SINCE MY FRONT ARE VERY CHOPY,

THEY NEVER STICK TOGETHER LONG ENOUGH TO MAKE A CIRCLE...

    DO U HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?

  • @pxndxlov Tease the hair together that you're using for victory rolls, spray it, let it dry, then coat it lightly with pomade so it's smooth. The choppy layers should stick together!

  • @ThePinUpSweetShoppe

What is the name of the woman at 0:04

  • @17sunnyhour Hahah, are you kidding? it says Rita Hayworth in huge letters on the picture! :p

  • @pxndxlov sounds bizarre, but i found using the handle of my hairbrush (as long as it's rounded!) and wrap my hair around it, then while holding the hair, pull the brush out from the hair slowly and secure the bobby pins (: makes it a little easier, and the result is much tidier for me (:

  • @pxndxlov also, try rolling your hair around your thumb (or index finger for a tighter curl)m at first, and then let it out after you get a good roll going, then secure with a pin at the base :)

  • WOULD THIS LOOK CUTE WITH STRAIGHT HAIR? ANYBODY THINK SO???

  • @MissMaceyMZA YES! I've done it with straight hair a few times. Just go extreme and make it flat-iron straight.

  • @ThePinUpSweetShoppe My hair is really thick and super smooth what do you recommend i do to keep it together? and how long do you recommend the bangs be? PLEASE HELP HOPING TO DO THIS ON MY BDAY :)

  • hihi your cute! ;)

  • when you were curling your hair, did you curl them all the way to the scalp or just the ends, vertically? i have such a hard time with rollers haha <3

  • thanks for the vid!! i've been trying to master this 'do on my own, but with no luck :( but i'm sure this will help!!

    p.s. you are so gorgeous!!

  • Thanks bunches!

  • This made it look really easy! I am totally going to give it a try this weekend! Thanks!

  • Omg I'm totally gonna use this thanx for much loved it and I liked that wink in the end hahaha:) lol

  • is it okay is its alittle lopsidded? mines always does it and idk if its ok

  • Love this, it's cute and you look cute with it.

Finally! A blonde doing tutorials! I was going nuts with all the brunettes--couldn't see a thing they were doing.

I'm blonde too but my hair is super fine and straight and likes to fall flat down my face, so I'd struggle with this. Plus I have razored side-bangs.

    Definitely inspiring though!

  • so, if i have insanely long hair, is it possible to fold it in half and then roll? the roll is too heavy for the bobby pin to hold up.

  • Aw, I really wanna do this but I have bangs and reeeeeally long hair, so it's really hard. :(

  • @MahiroWyster You can totally do it with bangs!! Just curl the bangs to the side. LisaFreemontStreet has a very similar video and she does it with bangs!! Check it out!

  • @ThePinUpSweetShoppe Thanks so much! :D And btw, I love your taste in music. Keep up the good work! :D

  • @ThePinUpSweetShoppe I have bangs and medium long hair..my hair is super straight and doesnt hold a curl for long at all but i really want to try this =/

  • @juuuuuustmee LisaFreemontStreet has a great video on this style on how to do it with bangs! And my hair is super super straight, too.Use a spray before you curl like Tresemme heat defense for curls, curl your hair and roll it back up and pin it to your hair til it cools; that allows it to hold its shape better. At the end, apply pomade to the curls and spray the curls with a light coat of an extra hold hairspray (I use Aussie's Instant Freeze. It works reeeeally well).

  • Great video, good music and good-looking hair BUT (I'm ready to stand corrected) my understanding is that a Victory Roll was a normally utilitarian hairstyle which involved a continuous roll of hair across the back of the neck. It was particularly favored during WW2 by nurses, military women and workers in defense plants because it was neat and plain. The elaborate upswept whorls and rolls that were often part of pompadours (such as here) are (to my knowledge) not the same as Victory Rolls.

  • love that vintage look

  • this is really cute(:

  • Thank you for this video. I've never even attempted to do it because I have naturally thin/fine/blonde hair that I always thought would be impossible to do. Mine is still thinner than yours, but it gives me hope ;)

  • You look like a real pin-up model.

  • I have layers in my hair and side swept bangs. Do you have any tips on this for hair like mine?

  • any recommendations for coarse hair?

  • I have a question, did you hair spray your curls before the video like when you were curling them?

  • this look is so classic and beautiful! i love finding other girls that find the pin-up look just as much as i do! keep up the videos! i totally subscribed <3

  • I love this!

  • Love this! How fun!! Thanks for sharing!! :)

  • i love your tutorials

  • ssssooooo!! pretyyy!!!

  • youre pretty(:

  • how do u keep ur armpits so clean

  • @XLNCuh LOL OMG!!

  • @XLNCuh Get a deoderant with lotion in it, like Dove. :) It makes them super smooth and doesn't crumble after a few hours.

  • @XLNCuh She washes everyday! Unlike u, u grubby shitstain

  • looks nice but my hair is completly curly

  • You've got a great look for this hairstyle. It suits you!

  • i think you were born in the wrong hair period ;)

  • one question...what if my bangs are short?...well medium length?

  • OMG, IT'S LADY GAGA DOING PIN UP TUTORIALS! lol jk :)

  • You should do a tutorial on your makeup here.

  • Does this type of hairstyle work even if you have don't have thick hair?

  • Will this work with short bangs?

  • this is so cute.I have a 60's party to go to in November I want to do this!I hope I can accomplish it.Your make up goes so well with it too.

  • I love this! Ever since I dyed my hair bright red, styles like this look better to me. Thanks for this, it was helpful, and you are beyond gorgeous.

  • I love all your vids!! Gorgeous! Even inspired me to stop being a scaredy cat and make my own tutorials :) xo

  • @MissSmidge YAY!!! I'm so glad!

  • beautiful...

  • omg its amazing! good job!

  • I love how people cringe their noses and squint their eyes when spraying hair spray. Everyone's face always looks the same!

  • Your videos are great, clear and helpful! Thanks so much!

  • omg ur so good with hair im jealous XD

  • You are too cute!! I always wear my hair on a side part so this tutorial is soo perfect for me :)

  • how about if you have bettie page bangs?

  • Just don't pull the bangs back into the "rolls." You may also want to do victory rolls that are parted straight down the middle for symmetry. That goes for you, too, msjaimegreen666.

  • Does this look good with bettie page bangs???

  • I'm sure it does! I've seen a lot of girls wear it with those bangs. I WISH I could pull those off!

  • Any tips for victory rolls with curly hair? I've been trying to find a tutorial that deals specifically with curly hair but there aren't any, and all the ones I do find tell me to curl my hair first... But it already curls! All by itself!

Thanks so much, this was really easy to understand. I'll probably try it blowing out my hair and then curling it, it's just such a hassle :p

  • You look lovely!!!

  • where you born in the early 50's and came to us in a time machine? you are insanely beautiful in that vintage 20's - 50's way, i so wish i had hair like yours

  • I practiced fot two hours on your vid!! and... I GOT IT YAYYY

    Thank you soo much!!

  • You have amazing skin.

  • Thankyou :D keep up the good work! x

  • I have the same problem as meegz66, could you please help me too? x

  • Gaga(: i know youve heard it alot, but, boy, the resemblence is incredible!

  • Could you tell me who the two ladies are in the beginning or a source for the pic?

  • so frik'n pretty ;D

  • hey there, have done this one before, was wondering if your hair is naturally curly? It looks so bouncy! My hair is a bit thicker, I think? and real long like almost to my waist, it is hard to keep curls in, any tips? Or should I just cut it a bit shorter? Thanks a bunch, read you have an eyeliner vid, am about to try to find it!

  • @meegz66 Soooo.... my comment was too long and Youtube yelled at me. So I'm sending it to you in a message!

  • @ThePinUpSweetShoppe erm sorry to be a pain, but I also have thick, long hair just like meegz66 could you perhaps tell me you response too? x

And your videos are very easy to understand. I think you have a new fan :D

  • haha You're so sweet! I basically just said that you may want to cut and/or layer your hair. That should make it a little lighter and easier to keep the curl. I actually had problems keeping curls in too, but mostly because my hair is annoyingly straight. If you just do pin curls, you may want to use a curling iron first THEN roll them in pin curls and keep them rolled over night or all day.

Your hairstylist may be able to help you out even more!

  • you're videos had helped me a lot!! thank you!! ( i'm girl who never hadn't know how to put her hair ^^)

  • very cute!

  • DUDE HELLA SIKK XD

  • OMG! amazing!

  • Hey! I was just wondering how to style one's hair like this and I found your videos.

I love the way you explain things, but do you think it is possible to try this with my oily, thin, volume-less hair?

Anyway, I should let it grow a bit, as well. It's too short now.

Gonna watch the rest of your videos, they seem nice ;)

  • i love your videos! amaaaazing :D

  • t'as coupe de cheveux est sublime

  • so beautiful

  • Great job, thank you! My daughter is going to Prom soon and I think I will use this technique for her hair! Thanks for taking the time to share!

  • You have no idea how hard it is to put your hair up in rolls when you have hair that reaches your high waist. I hold the ends of my hair with my arms fully extended, and this makes it very difficult to roll it neatly.

  • I just measured my hair, and it's 25 inches long from where it starts at my forehead to where it ends at my waist. It's impossible to neatly put up into a roll, though I often try!

  • @Ruadandaigh this is so true. Especially when there are no layers in it. I tried and it was an epic fail!! Even with half a can of hairspray and mouse.. I got one up but it just collapsed into a greasy mess.

  • @fromaworldcorrupted I have the hardest time getting it up. If I can actually roll it up cleanly (which DOES happen on occasion!), I have to use a TON of bobby pins, but then I don't use too much hair spray. I've never used mousse, and I don't use a curling iron. I have really thick hair, though.

I've been able to pin it up so well before that I didn't even need hair spray, but my hair has grown some inches since then.

  • @Ruadandaigh im sure on the occasions it works its photo mania, haha.

yeah, my hair too, is quite heavy and long. its impossible to work with, but i dont wanna give it the chop just yet.

if we must use a whole pack of bobby pins, so be it. victory rolls are just delectable.

hopefully ill manage like you have soon enough!

  • You're so pretty.

    :)

I love how your hair turned out, I am most definitely going to try this.

  • I LOVE this music... I have some of it on vinyl. But not nearly enough. :o)

Anyhoo... I'm borderline obsessed with these vintage doos! I've only done a few, like the "lynsey", the "pompadour" and some vintage updos... But I've always desperately wanted to learn how to do the faux bang and Especially the victory rolls and finger waves! Now, I'm snoopin through your channel in the hopes that I can recreate the victory rolls! I'm so inspired and not as reluctant as before! Thanks to you! <3

  • your so cute.

  • when you smile you are the most perfect pin up chick ever! and thanx for this tutorial! im definitely gonna do this for prom!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love your 50's look ,

    such a doll :)
