@Slooter3s If they didn't throw the original motor away and used it to build up that pulling motor, it's a CAT block. Otherwise who knows. Now only the guy who posted the video can tell us for sure, I'm just going based on the body style of the truck. GM was putting the 6.5L CAT engine in trucks of that body style.

I guess you're right bigbaddeger, I had always thought the 6.5 was a CAT engine. Hey, the Detroits had strong blocks on them though, they just needed gutted and new internals to make them a really decent engine.

the actual launch???Raise the RPM slowly while pushing down on the clutch as hard as I can (my clutch is a weighted pressure plate so at 3500rpm its starts to push my leg up and at 5000 its starting to push me thru the roof!!!)

I raise it up untill the clutch wants to lift, holding it down as hard as I can!!! at 5000+ its really starting to grab....punch the trottle to full, slide my foot sideways off the clutch and hold on tight. I launch on the track with a sled in town the exact same way only there I can hold the clutch in a little longer.
