By the way, for those who don't know, there is a CD on the Live Classics label containing a recital Zhukov (in German spelt Shukov) gave in Munich on March 30, 1993. Apart from Prokofiev's 2nd Sonata, he played Scriabin's 7th and 9th Sonata there, plus the 3 Etudes Op. 65, the Preludes Op. 9 No. 1 for Piano Left Hand & Op. 15 No. 2, and Vers la Flamme Op. 72. It's probably my favourite Zhukov CD, worth looking out for.
Beautifully vivid interpretation.

I am beginning to think that this gentleman's renditions of Scriabin's music are astoundingly glorious.

Beautiful, thanks so much for this! Please excuse my boldness, but what about the 3rd Sonata he played at the same recital?
LeonFleisherFan 2 years ago
Yes that does exist, people can hear it on the audio DVD

Which appears to be out of print?

It is imperative to start this recording with youtube's "&fmt=18" option to have it in STEREO.
I was in that recital. Simply amazing.
