Beautiful!!! I tried make backround without notes for recorder by guitar and I saw the difference on Lachrime Pavaen I made by my way new and I admire those who play notes on lutes and guitars...as it sounds different than those who not as I. Incomparable!
Fantastic! What I love about playing music is that as we age, we can only improve. I think it is one of life's great achievements to be able to play like this!
Your videos are wonderful, thanks for sharing them! I´m 16 years old and live in Brazil, in a city where we don´t have anyone to teach how to play this marvellous instrument. I study the guitar since I was 6 years old, but what I really want to play is the baroque lute. I´ll try to learn it this year (I´ve already ordered one last October), taking some classes during the Festival de Música Antiga de Juíz de Fora, which happens in Brazil every July
Even though I prefer Rock music to classical most of the time, I can only say that your playing is wonderful =). I love listening to it to chill out or when I am working. Thanks =)
Haha, I love Dire Straits, Jethro Tull and all that stuff. But this Bach Suite is also great! Great perfomance on your lute! I play this for cello class, I just ended my first year :)
Another Bach on the baroque lute! You are great! I love these menuets very much. The sounds are so tender, coming to the heart....I am happy, and you ?
I love these two Menuets and I know they can be tricky to perform, but I think you are doing a very good job. Personally I use to play the second Menuet slower.
And now we are waiting for the grand Finale, the Gigue
It's interesting to see how opinions may differ. Teachers often told me *not* to play slowlier this kind of second menuet, because it would be like expresssing twice the same thing (its minor charm), which is too much...
Yes, your idea is interesting. But at least I should try to play the second one "better" than I did... still working on it... ;-) (always some more work to do on Bach's music...)
An old dear friend of mine said:"Music? every kind (of music), of course, BUT BACH!!!" half descendant tone, up one and half, another half descendant... BACH!!! !-) Grateful Living Lucio
such a lovely way to begin the day :) merci beaucoup valery :)

Sounds very nice on the lute -- some nicer bass lines are possible than on guitar. Good job!

Bach sur un luth, joué par tes doigts experts, c'est formidable.

The right music at the end of the day, wonderfully played. (but perhaps indeed, I think you may want the 2nd minuet played a little sedately maybe?)
