This is not a good video for traffic in Los Angeles, try one exit north on sunset blvd going east to get on the the 405 it will take 30 minutes to go a mile and a half to get to the exit and another 10 minutes to go thru the metering light on the exit and another 30 - 45 minutes to get to the 101 and all you have done is go 15 miles away and no where near you destenation.

I don't know, all I remember when I visited Los Angeles was the immense number of cars in the street. You know cities here in Europe have an excuse to have similar congested streets because our cities are old, and most streets have never been altered to meet today's mass transit demands, but come on, in LA! I was on the 405 freeway and 101 interchange for like 30 minutes, a crane had fallen over or something.

this is hardly representative. i live right next to this intersection and bike through it almost every day. normally the traffic coming from the bottom left (san vicente) turning left onto eastbound wilshire ends up blocking the intersection just as the lights switch, and westbound drivers on wilshire just sit there with nowhere to go. luckily i just get to bike right through them all, or i'd go insane.
