  • I sense these Vietnamese identifies the administration of South Vietnam, or don't like the communist's invasion of South Vietnam in 1976. The singers just vent their love of homeland. They are so lucky that they can express their feelings in a free land--United States.

  • @teddyheo that's because this is the former national anthem, for South Vietnam that lasted until 1976.

    because, both songs are both unique in their own respect.

    this one's the more traditional and recognized one, you have absolutely no right to be calling this song worse than tien quan ca or any song. this is the song that Cal VSA chose to sing for their culture night, so you have absolutely no say in the matter.
