what do they use for start fuel?

@gypsyjoes First they squirt gasoline with a squirt bottle to start it then i believe it rums on mehtanol till it warms up, or maybe race gas. The hose he pulled i believe is the feed line for the wam up fuel.

@Chevymonster203 When it first started I said, 'That is alcohol", then he pulled that hose off like you said and you could hear the nitro kicking in and popping away. I never knew they did that in sequence. That fuel is either real weak on the nitro or they have the blower detuned because that crew chief has to know that a blown motor on nitro is like a powder keg waiting to go off. No one rev's a motor on nitro like that. They will burp and explode the blower right off the motor.

yup. nitro is hard to light right off the start. runs on alcohol first

Not to mention that trying to light an engine on nitro is a easy way to launch engine parts all over the pits when it pops.
