  • i tried to drag weights in the gymnasium and they got real mad real fast

  • @:42 it says "god, she flies. Complementing her on how fast she runs.

  • Wonder woman athlete here.

  • i bet he's tapping her ....

  • If you look on athletic.net and the top times for the 100, you will see that hundreds of high schoolers run in that range.

  • intense

  • I have a new run technic!

  • i should also mention that there aren't even a LOT of guys that run 10 low and under today.. it takes a national record on the high school level, a D1 all-american or better to go that fast..

  • THE REPETITIVE MOTIONS OF ANY SPORTS COULD INJUREYOU UNLESS YOU STRESS THE BODY ENOUGH BY STRENGHTENING TO MAKE IT DURABLE FOR THOSE STRESSES

  • Tyson is smart enough to learn all he can about the Jamaican way of training, by training with one of their best. This means he's also studying their diet, sleep habits, lifestyle--EVERYTHING, in order to get a small edge on his competitors.

NOTE that it NEVER shows Tyson himself doing his workout, because he doesn't want any competitors to publicly know the exact secrets he's using at this time of the season.

  • tyson gay..reminds me of Gay Focker. Gaylord Focker...lol...classic

  • is running on your toes the right way to run can someone answere me please

  • @yankonthis Yes if you sprint.

  • does anybody know what age you should start using the speed harness sled?

  • I'm 5'9 s133 pounds super skinny, I stopped weight lifting during cross country and I can belt out 12 seconds unofficial easily during our track work outs. Its just that sprinters are mainly born that way with their fast twitch muscles

  • great work out together veronica and tyson

  • i always get disappointed trying to find out how these real athletes train. in weight lifting there are sets and reps and pretty much everything is clear and systematical. sprinters just seem to jump around adn be super fast :S

  • @asevorovesa it may look like they are just jumping around but perfecting drills such as a-skip and b-skip is what makes sprinters faster, weight training just strenghthens their muscles so they wont get injuries it doesnt make them faster.

  • @asevorovesa hey mate you're right its really tough finding out how real athletes train. with the crap on the internet seems like every program is just based on body building and building bulky heavy bodies instead of lean athletic bodies. what sets and reps should be lifted for athletes??

  • If Tyson Gay improves his technique, he could probably beat usain bolt. He's the only one who could do it anyway.

  • the person in the vid said god she's fine @ :42,but you can hardly hear it lol

  • @dmms24 looool yh i hear it

  • Yea right....say his pr is 10.40 slow ass lier!

  • Yea you might not do werid gym workouts but 10:50 & 21:52 isn't usain bolt nor tyson gay speed so stop acting like you the shit and don't need to do these workouts you slow Bitch, I run a 10:40 and a 21:13 and I do all types of werid workouts. So step you Pussy up before you start talking shit!

  • She is sooo cute....

  • it's so weird! we do these same workouts in high school! nice to see VCB and Tyson Gay do the same thing!!!

  • That just goes to show you the basics are the basics my friend

  • Nope. If you don't squat, it's virtually impossible to run much even under 11 seconds without pulling a muscle (unless your body is perfectly proportioned, which is really rare).

There's a reason why any good sprinter does squats and dead lifts a couple times a week year round. It's more for injury prevention than actually getting faster, but without getting stronger, you're setting yourself up for failure.

  • @smsprints3 hallelujah praise Jesus!!!

  • very true, but i know a guy who runs 10.50 and does no gym what so ever.

  • @ashezz14

I heard that Kim Collins did not lift weights. Might not be true and if it is, I'm sure he did some kind of strength/resistance training.

  • @smsprints3 I agree, years after retiring for sprinting I feel that I still have the speed but I understand now what all the weight lifting were about. to make the body resist the stress of the sprint. When you are in top shape you take it for granted...

  • @smsprints3 or hamstring curls too.

  • @smsprints3 no idea what you're talking about...

  • @smsprints3 um I never squat and I run 10.8 in the 100m

  • @bpriester1

you're very lucky then and have a lot of natural talent. i didn't say no one can do that, i said it's really rare. trust me, i've been beaten by my fair share of sprinters that have never touched a weight in their life.

or you could be making that up.. since everyone on youtube runs a 10.7 or 10.8 in 3rd grade apparently

  • @smsprints3 well I have a little natural talent but I also train for track I just never squat haha I don't lift wieghts on my legs at all, it's all plyometrics, and isometrics haha.

  • @bpriester1 IN KINESIOLOGY STRENTH COMES FIRSTS,THEN PLIOMETRICS.

  • Respond to this video... U CAN USE WEIGHTS TO AID IN POWER.

  • @smsprints3 I'm not making anything up. I have a full sports scholarship to college and in 2012 catch a ticket to London and come see me run for the US. :)

  • @bpriester1

who knows, maybe i'll see you at the trials in a couple years haha. good to dream right? if i ever make it there it'll be in the 400.. and with a lot of work and luck

  • @smsprints3 I'm perfectly proportioned....

  • @smsprints3 if you do injure your muscle will u have to build back up to your former speed

  • @smsprints3 Your statement is pretty accurate overall, but certainly not always. KIM COLLINS of St. Kitts & Nevis claims to have NEVER done a squat in his life, and first he broke 11 seconds at age 14.

More importantly, although he's never remained in the top 10 long, this man has made the World Rankings list for 15 STRAIGHT YEARS. Other than King Carl, who else has had a career that lasts that long, without major injury??? Could this be because he DIDN'T do squats?

  • @smsprints3 where do you come up with this stuff?!. sprinters ran sub 11 before weight training, WELL before squatting..and some have ran it under 11s before ever training. Right up until the mid 1960s, resistance training was thought to have been a hindrance to speed...lots of guys ran low 10s by that time and never squatted a day in their lives.

  • @rcaddict72

"lots of guys" ran low 10s?

    no.

where do you come up with this stuff? and if you couldn't figure it out, i'm speaking in generalities. notice the adjective i used before "impossible" ... you must have missed that. there are exceptions to the rule (i.e., kim collins)

  • Comment removed

  • @smsprints3 yea but those squats can be grueling. Some sprinters mix up the squats with a general light up to increase explosiveness

  • @smsprints3 wtfff??? ive never squat over 100 lbs. and have a 10.5

  • @grant23ful

your dad outside timing you with a stopwatch for 80 meters doesn't count.

prove it with results or you're lying like 99% of people on here.

  • @smsprints3 lol don't make sweeping statements dude. U don't NEED to squat to sprint fast, it just helps make u faster. Kim Collins doesn't touch weights... does he sprint under 11 seconds?;)

Plus there are lifts far better than squats in terms of functional development, deadlifts for example, or barbell hip thrusts...

  • @decaDBZ I did not make a sweeping statement. I know there are exceptions, and I said virtually impossible. I also never said that you need to squat to sprint fast. In fact, that's not what I was saying at all

  • usain bolt in a interview on letterman said he did squats so you should do squats.

  • thats why tyson gay , usain bolt and asafa powel do squats for warm ups ,

  • damn yow .. that shit looks hard!

  • @chubble101 NOT WHEN YOU HAVE GOTTEN THE STREGTH TO GET TO THAT LEVEL. THEN ITS JUST OHH THIS TYPE OF TRAINING.OK NO PROBLEM

  • two of my fav. runners.

  • wow those training techniques look hard... haha... GO VC, BRING HOME BOTH GOLDS THIS TIME

  • Could you explaine why do you think VC needs to change her coach?

  • at the time when i said i had a certain reason why i said but now forgot....but i know i dont trust her coach

  • Yes Lance Brauman

  • Yes, i think they got the same coach!!!
