  • just aswome to watch

  • I enjoyed your video no history here in the north, keep up the good work.

  • Keith look wha..BOOOOOMMM!!!!

  • you guys are actually very good... ever though of going on a search to europe ??

  • damn... in my place, we dont have this kind of stuff (even if we do, its VERY rare)... sadly

  • hey SCdigger, do you have to get permission to do digs like these? Because I assumed that all battle sites were State parks?

  • This was private property, and yes, we had permission from the landowner. Thanks for watching!

  • @SCdigger Hello Digger nice to watch this vid and see pieces of the items of that facinating episode of your history. I dig in England my home, also do the same digs across in France and around the Somme area. I always like to find personal items like a badge,a button or perhaps an eating fork from mess kits sometimes with the soldiers numer on it. Not possible to dig on the main sights in France now; one has to find a friendly farmer to allow you on his land.

  • @forum157sf Get a life forum157sf. Dig on scdigger.

  • cool!

  • you guys know if you can find gold 2 feet deep with the

Garrett GTP 1350 Metal Detector, like a big bag of gold coins????

  • bubba ....what if you find a dead body frm the war?

  • Any chance of that ordinance exploding?

  • Nice shells!

  • Looks like good deer hunting !

  • Great video! Keep up the fantastic work.

  • What fun and cool stuff. I hope you're keeping GPS coordinates of what you find, and where--and giving the info to the state historical society so the pro historians and archaeology can then put the info in proper context! (grad school in history here, sorry!). It's cool to do this--but please please save and record the info if you do!

  • @anonymoususerindenve

Your attitude regarding interested amateurs and GPS is refreshing. The academic archaeologists are obsessed with irrelevant methodology.

These guys really love and care about this stuff.

  • Outstanding!!"

  • Can you metal-detect in state and county parks do you know? I was thinking about digging like you guys but im not sure what the rules are. Thanks

  • you will have to look that up in your state but from what i have seen most of the time you cant dig in state parks

  • Can't even imagine finding a shell like those!! Thanks for posting

  • no battles were fought in colardo

  • so sad cant find anything in denver cep the park, found hotwheels.

  • Are those are discarded projectiles? They must have been left behind in retreat, for they would look a lot different if deployed, I think.

    am I right?

  • Are there any battles fought in Colodado?

  • wow wish we had places with that sort of finds up here in vt. but all our places where any battles were fought are off limits. protected land. or the owners of the properties say no.

  • I have never gone detecting. My mouth is watering now.

  • an Ace 250 is always a good detector, it's about 250 bucks, might be able to find one for 200 on ebay,

  • Awesome video!!!

  • Great finds! It may be a silly question but can these shells still explode or are they just projectiles like bullets?

  • most were solid projectiles but some do explode

  • Awsome!! One of those bullets could have killed my 4th generation grandfather!!He was in the 41st infantry tuscaloosa plowboys! Died in the battle of atlanta

  • This is the 3rd time that I have watched this video, it's one of my favorites!! Those shells are awesome, one day I hope I find a whole one.

  • I love them all!!!

  • great video I'm just starting off with metal detecting and I have a Garrett Ace 250

  • Hey i got metal detector two days ago... i saw your videos, interesting...

  • i wanna buy one of these metal detectors too. i live in germany, so maybe i could find sum old german coins.

  • He tells you within the first 30 seconds

  • were is this?

  • Outside of Atlanta, GA.

  • @SCdigger Holy crap. I live in Atlanta, Georgia!

  • @SCdigger Wow! Nice hunt. Also, I live there!

  • Do you ever consider documenting the GPS positions of the "greater finds", such as, the large shells and hopefully bigger pieces - so as to help the CWPT people or even the HISTORY CHANNEL? I'm a member or CWPT and CIVIL WAR buff and certainly commend your efforts to at least retrieving them, but would also hope their locations be recorded for future generations and historians.Best of luck in your adventures.

  • top notch finds!! Congrats

  • I love your videos! You got me started in this hobby. Once I saw you in action, I was hooked. I just acquired a White's Coinmaster 4000D...it's old, but it seems to get the job done. I haven't found any great relics yet, but I know it's coming. :]

  • Great to hear! Keep the coil to the soil and save some history!

  • I really like watching your hunts. But what I would like to hear is your target responses. If you could let us hear your target audio responses before you dig - That would be great! This goes for your other members of your team. Thanks again.

  • what were the shells from?

and i cant understand how the shell was just under the leaves after 140 yrs..

  • another good show!

    thanks

  • Great stff SCD, found some old bottles the other day, nothing like what you have though. Although did find a wood hold for a fire place very old. very brittle.
