  • 3:15 "we can go ahead and cut up our hard salami.." thats what she- wait, what?

  • Can you make lo Mai gai

  • @jan8919 I have this on my request list and will make a video of it soon :)

  • What kind of oil can I substitute for the peanut oil? Tks!

  • @ElboogieAKA Any oil that has a high smoke point will work. Regular vegetable oil is fine :)

  • can i use different things besides the cut up salami n woodear mushrooms? can i use like zucchini n etc?

  • @dlkna Yes, you can use almost any combination of vegetables in this dish. The zucchini sounds good :)

  • instead of using wine do u think that i could substitue it with cider vinager?

  • @dlkna Yes for this recipe you can - an evenbetter sub would be rice vinegar :)

  • instead of using the wine do u think that cider vinegar would be okay?

  • we are from Albuquerqe and would love to make your recipe however we would opt for ham and instead of parsley we would use green onion; we subscribed sub back!

  • I currently located in a country that any kind of wine is a big No No. What can I substitute the wine with ? Thanks

  • @Just4Rub Hi- for this recipe you can just use rice wine vinegar in place of the wine :)

  • @Just4Rub Hey sorry - I meant rice vinegar not wine :)

  • I really would like to try making this dish for my family! What would be a good side dish for the chicken?

  • This dish is great served with fried rice and stir fried green beans :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy I made this last night. it was a major hit, everyone loved it. thanks

  • go ahead

  • So I cooked this tonight, it was amazing! I actually used regular mushrooms, and a red pepper with it as well, and I used canola oil instead of peanut oil. But YUM!

  • may i substitute mushrooms for green peppers and onions or would they be slimy too?

  • Mushrooms would be good, I don't think they would really be slimy :)

  • Wow...this looks so intriguing! I have been looking for new ways to cook chicken, and this is the way! Can you tell me what the texture comes out like? Is the chicken breast pieces sufficiently moist? Have you ever prepared foil wrapped chicken this way with cut up chicken pieces instead (with bones)?

  • The chicken breast peices come out tender and moist. I have never tried this with cut pieces of chicken; and I'm not sure how the skin would turn out if you left it on either. I'm thinking it may come out a bit slimy. I'll have to experiement and see. If you try this, let me know how it turns out. Thanks for writing and watching :)

  • I tried your recipe and was amazed how tender and moist the chicken pieces were (as you said they would be).

I will make this recipe again with cut pieces next time (probably cut up thighs). In doing so, I would take the skin off first. I agree that the skin would come out slimy.

  • I couldn't find wood ear mushrooms, so I substituted Porcini mushrooms, which were far too strong in flavour and overpowered the dish, so I guess you should only substitute button or chestnut mushrooms?

  • Button mushrooms or even shitakes would be good :)

  • thanks..looks delicious..we wrap the chicken in pandan leaves before frying..but this style retains more of the juices..I'll try this one next time..

  • Grrr, you've done it to me again. Been preparing a Chinese Banquet for some friends this weekend and now I have to go buy chicken and tinfoil too. :D You're costing me a fortune. LOL. So the menu is; Egg Fried rice Noodles, with Broccoli and Bamboo shoots/beansprouts Crispy beef with a honey, chilli sauce Tempura prawns Hoi Sin Pork and your new chicken recipe. I think I'll need wheelchairs to get my guests out of the house after that.
  • LOL - The menu sounds delicious - thanks for posting :)

  • I have never thought of deep frying tinfoil. The chicken looked tender and delicious!!

  • interesting technique of deep frying foil

  • Yum...yum...................

  • You are a culinary genius! I would have never in a million years thought of frying food wrapped in foil! This would be a perfect application for a hot day, using the deep fryer. Or anytime for that matter.

I live in a very small town so my options for foods are limited, so I have a couple of questions:

    Would white wine work?

Would regular sliced button mushrooms work?

Also, could I do this same recipe with boned skinless chicken thighs?

You are fantastic, I always look forward to your recipes!

  • Yes, the wine, sliced mushrooms, and chicken thighs would work just fine :) Thank you for your comment and for watching my vids :)

  • A Dry sherry is a good alternative to the Chinese wine, but it's a bit sweeter?

  • I haven't seen anything prepared like that before. looks good. ty for posting. And bring back ur Southern accent, I miss it! LOL

  • can i use Chinese sausage instead of salami

  • Yes, that would be good too :)
