"Killing in the name of" is one of the best anti racism songs ever produced, it is only offensive to those who support the KKK or those that abuse their positions of power. The primary target was the LAPD. This speech is perhaps a great example of TED not being the pinnacle of what it thinks it is, - this speech is so "dad dancing at the disco". The facts around what this song stands for would have been far more noteworthy than the view of The Sun newspaper!
Yeah I like the sentiment, but to slip in that Rage's music is "offensive" without really touching on the other sides to it and not to mention at it's core the music is about peace, justice & freedom, and to kind of leave "offensive" hanging out there means you don't even understand Rage anyway. An 'Idiot' Joe supporter who heard "Fuck you I won't do what you tell me" may think it is offensive but anyone who knows anything would see beyond. I know I'm nit-picking, but wanted to make that point
Interesting. Roundabout way to make a point about how you shouldn't limit yourself to what you *think you can achieve, but I find stuff like that fascinating! And I enjoyed it!! (And I bought 6 copies of the RAGE single)
