Do You know why there is always a fade effect between each scene? Well, it's sad, but it's done like this with all these fades because the author DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO EDIT ANYTHING. With Fade Effect You can connect everything and it will look, well ok, because in fact there is no real connection between images. If You want to do something, do it without this lame fade effect - otherwise it's nothing more than power point presentation.

Aside from the horror element, this feels a lot like a kid's adventure movie. The kids journey to defeat the evil adults, some of the sillier moments, and the fight to save Poindexter's home.

This movie kind of reminds me of the Goonies...if One Eyed Willy's caverns had been full of cannibalistic mutants.

Wasn't gonna comment but reading your request for remarks on editing skills i suddenly thought of a couple of things that might be constructive. Liked it overall except it's a bit long. Only real issue was that i thought you overused the fade in/out transition. Maybe break it up a bit with some straight cuts or longer takes, use the music as your guide to make it flow or jar, depending on what effect you want. Also the shot where he blows out the candle would be cool to fade out to at the end.

Oh my god! No one can deny that this movie is one of the best ever made! Wes Craven in a brilliant director, and this movie, though bizarre and disturbing much of the time, is one of the best scary movies ever made! It has just the right amount of scare, humor, and gore and I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Roach! He is the cutest thing! I love him! I can't get over how adorable he is!
