This has to be the worst story pacing of any animated show I've ever seen. The entire prologue consists of "Oh look, a D&D ride!"? Who are these characters and why should I care? They desperately needed to draw these scenes out a little more and add some substance.

@Ziogen I'm a geek :This isn't the first episode,or at least not the first intro' to the characters.I was a kid when this aired but I remember their original meeting of the DM (Eric was scared)They all knew eachother,it's why there's reference to the Dungeon Master 'not talking in riddles, for once'.The openning clips,like Uni jumping into Bobby's arms were from a one hour movie,I seem to remember ?This intro' is just catching people up on what's happened. It was an ok show for the 80's.

@skrinkle2000 Yeah yr right....i also seem to remember the first episode being based around them meeting up at the fairground and goin on the rollercoaster and getting sucked into the realm...basically, the opening sequence is like a supershort, edited 1st episode....im really pissed that they aint put the very 1st on dvd as i LOVED this as a kid, it was my fave...the reason i came on here today was to find the REAL 1st episode...not even sure the dvd last episode is actually the last 1 either??

@Harmzeedj1 I haven't seen the DVD yet, but I remember D&D being one of those shows of the 'synergistic' 80's marketing that Bill Murray's 'Scrooged' is based on...that marketing strategy got a little out of hand and great shows were canceled because they didn't make FAST money. I remember D&D being canceled a few times so maybe some episodes are lost.At least this sort of loss spawned the 'alternative' fad of the 90's, and some great careers tahnks to t.v. shows' cult fandom movements.

@EllenRebecca3 Let's see... went from riding a theme park ride to fighting off a 5 headed dragon AND meeting the Big Bad, PLUS their "mentor/Big Good" in one minute flat, just in time for a title drop. Set out the entire series premise in less time than it takes to make instant coffee. Yeah, that was almost stupidly fast, it isn't just you. Heck, between the outfits/classes, you even get stereotypical but likely accurate concepts of the characters. Scary, no?
