Funny you mention that, the apkwon singer, if i'm not mistaken is Dominican, the two bataleros minus the iya player are Puerto Rican, i think the only Cuban may be the Iya player but thats a guess..believe me Puerto Rocks are definitely respresented well in this particular musical situation.

They were in the California area sometime a while back...i'm pretty sure if they get the call and they can do it, they'd be willing to travel...the apkwon Bembesito was in Portland, OR last year i think...
The apkwon is Osvaldo "Bembesito" Lora, and he and his group have made quite a name for themselves...they do alot of tambores and guiros in the NYC area...on iya is Raymond Corasani, on Itotele is Camilo Molina, and on oconcolo is Jonathan Troncoso, i think...

Funny you mention that, the apkwon singer, if i'm not mistaken is Dominican, the two bataleros minus the iya player are Puerto Rican, i think the only Cuban may be the Iya player but thats a guess..believe me Puerto Rocks are definitely respresented well in this particular musical situation.

They were in the California area sometime a while back...i'm pretty sure if they get the call and they can do it, they'd be willing to travel...the apkwon Bembesito was in Portland, OR last year i think...

The apkwon is Osvaldo "Bembesito" Lora, and he and his group have made quite a name for themselves...they do alot of tambores and guiros in the NYC area...on iya is Raymond Corasani, on Itotele is Camilo Molina, and on oconcolo is Jonathan Troncoso, i think...

I don't know why we can't get more postings of our Lucumi-Yoruba music and tambor in this place. This music takes me back to my Cuban upraising in no other than NY where we went to tambo after tambor. It is only now that I am 30 years old where I really truly believe and understand. I beg for more postings like this so we can spread our beautiful religion and way of life
