And once again, working class people are NOT special interests. Wall Street firms, big oil companies, and greedy insurance companies are special interests. Peace officers risk their lives EVERY DAY to protect the public. That's not a special interest, that a high risk job that you probably wouldn't dare even try to do.

@dante116 Deputy sheriffs are well paid and deserve it, but their contracts our out of control. They are paid 7% higher than their peers in any other bay area county, and pension costs are 70% of payroll. They should not have a stipulation in their contracts that guarantee them to the highest paid in the bay area. You really have to question any candidate they spend $40,000 to pump up.

Hey Holober fanboys, you are misquoting your own candidate. The deputy sheriff's don't have pensions costing 70% of payroll. Holober said "One department has only 8.5% of the County’s employees, but it racks up 23% of the entire County’s pension costs - with pensions that cost taxpayers 70 cents on top of every payroll dollar." NOT the deputies.

Over 1000 local workers lost their jobs but Pine walked away with a bag full of loot. A real "man of the people". - rich people, that is.
