  • An ode to the Smurfs? Well they're blue ;) Let's have a competition... the living person who does not twitch at least one brain cell to this can win a jaffa cake? BRILL song

  • I have been searching for a positive song to wake me up in the mornings - and I really feel that if this cant make throwing my legs out of bed in the morning a good experience I dont know what can! Putting this on my mobile straight away.... thanks

  • this is close to beatles as u get w/o being the beatles ...great music

  • @DarkDude755 i just love it.....it is ahead of it's time and the classic mix is superb, beyond good taste, its a happy delightful song.. not like you hear today, with the classy ending, of old orchastra from the 50's sound, I just dont' think many know about it.

  • DONT WASTE YOUR TIME READING THIS!! YOU SHOULD LISTEN!!

  • I LOVE THEM ! THANK-YOU !

  • This song sounds EXACTLY like the Beatles. Even for ELO, who's goal was to "pick up where the beatles have left off".

  • whats the weather like tomorrow Mr Blue Sky ????

  • Roses are red

    Violets are blue

    This song reminds me of......

    DOCTOR WHO!!!!!!

    Violets are purple

    NOT BLUE

  • @Mreahii But what about Doctor Who?

  • The best non number 1 of all time.

  • vote up vid if elo rocks LITALLERLY

  • This song seems perfect for a bonding scene. Get two unlikely friends or an unlikely couple that have just discovered they actually like each other and put them in a scene where everything's sunny, there's unicorns and rainbows everywhere, they're getting along and having a great time, you know the bit. This would be the perfect song for that scene.

  • Happy song. Just oozes positive vibes. :D

  • 過呼吸を起こしそうな滑り出しから雲を抜けて天上界の某氏に会えたかな。カンパネルラは見つかったかな?今日も銀河鉄道は走り去る。

  • ELO , always been one of my favorites, reminds me of my age. I did aquire the original covers given to the radio stations and promotionals. They also went on to back up many groups and movies. They are truley a seperate distiction. Rock on TheMaster974.

  • Hey, you with the pretty face - welcome to the human race!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • There's a grey sky for one person.

  • 1976 if I remember correctly. If not, then 1977. Either way it takes me back to my teenage years. The choice then was this type of music or puke rock with the sex pistols. I know which one I preferred. Thankyou for uploading this.

  • @Stemax1960

    "puke rock"

For fucks sake man, let people have the own musical preferences. I for one like both. I'm sure that makes me a bad person. But I don't care.

  • @BigJuicyx3 thank you for having an electic taste in music, a rare thing to find among people on youtube

  • THE BEST SONG IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD!!!!!! :D

  • When Im down all I need to pick me up is this.

  • Now i know how the allies defeated Hitler. They built a time machine and sent E.L.O. back in time to play for him. To make a long story short Hitler couldn't handle that level of awesome and commited suicide

  • @FiendishPlaque I think you are correct!

  • How can you NOT smile after listening to this?

  • 1 person is a Mr Grey Skies

  • @FUNTANGO I just disliked this video, and you+msSupercandygirl are the cause. It's a shame because I love ELO, but people like you annoy the fuck out of me. So dislike :<

  • @masterarjen Just vote 'em down. It solves the problem if they feel ignored.

  • @masterarjen please don't vote down a good video over comments, just vote down the comments. otherwise you're making the video, an therefore ELO, look a little worse, wether you mean to or not.

  • @FUNTANGO

Why yes! I'm mister Grey Skies as a matter of fact!! Pleased to meet you!

How are you doing? Me? I'm feeling great! Thanks for asking!! I love you :D

  • @Frequency404, @FUTANGO, I actually prefer grey skies over blue skies even though I'm an elo lover.

  • my mum said they kinda sound like the beatles and i gve her a dirty look lol

  • @hakinme As a Beatles-expert (at age 14), Jeff Lyne who, worked with ELO, later worked with the remaining Beatles (Press dubbed 'em the "Threetles"), on "Free As A Bird" & "Real Love".

Personally, I like this aswell. :P

  • @hakinme This is song is inpired by the Beatles song "A Day in the Life," especially the bridge by Paul McCartney. "Woke up, fell out of bed, dragged a comb across my head..."

  • @evolution4407 I know. :P

  • Love this song it's so awesome and beautyfull

  • Mr good music where have you gone?

  • @Foxguard17 Is in the ass of Justin Bieber :'(

  • I love this fucking song...

  • Doesn't this song make you wantto dance? Yea Yea yea!!!!

  • Back in the summer of 1982 I was on a long 8½-hour nonstop flight from San Francisco to London aboard a crowded Pan Am 747, listening to all the songs of "Out of the Blue" on the earphones of my Sony Walkman. It really broke the boredom, including this song, which really put me in a good mood while in the "Blue Sky" (pun intended)!!!

  • only one person is confused with their life

  • i think he gets the strange voice effect by talking into a harmonica? pretty cool stuff

  • @sutcliffe21 Naw. It's called a vocorder. It's like a microphone that someone talks into and it changes their voice like that.

  • Hey you there with the pretty face! Welcome to the human race!

    Simply epic line

  • @shinyguru Yes I love that too LOL

  • Great music. but it just amazes me how much they ripped from The Beatles

  • how did they?

  • @TempleCityMusic I don't think they ripped them off, maybe they were just influenced by them?

Agree that it is great music though!

  • @PeteGeeza86 I settle for strong influensed

  • @TempleCityMusic cool :-)

  • @TempleCityMusic

You are talking out of your backside.....Do some research before you write your inaccurate comments..........See what Paul McCartney has to say on the subject...

  • @billinfrance1

I stand behind my comment, because I can here the strong influence of the Beatles in there music. I don't know what Paul McCartney said on the subject, but send me a link and I will read it.

  • @TempleCityMusic

Just because you think you can HEAR a strong Beatles influence does NOT mean that the artist ripped them off (your words). Many groups (that's what they were called in my day) were influenced by other artists. Even Jeff Lynne has stated that some of ELO's music is Beatlesque in style but that does not imply it was ripped. John Lennon was strongly influenced by Buddy Holly perhaps the Beatles ripped his music, You need to do a little more research before commenting further.

  • @billinfrance1 well said !!! ELO are defenately their own band , with their own sound , anyone that cant identify an ELO song wasnt around in the 70's

  • <:C

  • great jeff

  • Awesome old ELO music! great group!

    thanks for posting!

  • Good :)

  • Banjo-Tooie (Jiggy music, I think or its when you open a gate to a new world.) 3:54 - 4:11

  • Yeah although its kinda a happy song it has a bit of sadness in it and sorry about your dog man

  • WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????

  • best band ever

  • disagreed. not negating the fact that they did some awesome instrumental work together. jeff lynne is a bad ass.

  • I don't think any one could stay sad while listening to this album. I want to the buy the album on cd, make copies, and give one to any person thats feeling down or simply needs some, or enjoys cheery music.

  • @bzsurfer855 hmm.. i like your effort in regards to trying to keep peoples chins up in their time of need.. but i cry every time i listen to this album.

  • @willogrover sorry to hear that. have a nice day!

  • let all the astronomers' make a video of the (moon bombing) with mister blue sky!

  • @dhbiker2714 I used to babysit for this british couple who were "so cool"..I was about 13 or 14 they had every album! That's when I discovered how awesome they were! Soooo happy! weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Great memories.

I had this album on vinyl...and the day I bought it I was to go to a party later that evening where I met my first ever girlfriend.

To be a teen in the '70s. It wasn't all bad.

  • good stuff! good ol' bangin tunes to lift ur spirits every now and then, PERFECT!! :)

  • I was just saying the universe is mental, what you think is created around you, I know what you're probably thinking, I didn't ask for this or that to happen. That's because the universe is like a child it doesn't hear the word no. No i have not come into contact personally with a person with cancer, (I don't think) but I was trying to help. I have a question for you samuel19ful, have you ever had scoliosis surgery, or even know what it is?

  • i have had scoliosis. what is the point youre trying to pull out of that? i agree with everything you have said. i cant find anyone who shares these same ideas.

  • health tip: most people who think about cancer and worry about it will get it, agnolage it and realize it is in the world and say no to it. Cancer is only genes and cells that loose contact and correspondence with the brain and electronic cells. let your mind connect with your body.

    - use the ways of the universe

    and sorry for everyone's loss

  • Why would anyone listen to you about anything scientific if you can't even spell words correctly?

  • Why should people listen to you?

  • because I AM the voice of reason

  • Whats the point of harassing these people? I personally am scientific minded, but I see no logical reason for flaming people over the internet.

  • Awsome!

  • My Mom(a courageous angel on Earth)was buried several hours ago. This song, especially its otherworldly (heavenly)ending, reminds me of her,and i honestly wish i could join her now,but i don't dare, because i will see her again someday in the place where not one iota of cancer will ever touch her again!

  • I like them. They're not at the top of my list, but I like them. Abbey Road was a great album. I love it. But I love a lot of bands more than the Beatles.

  • Don't insult Jeff Lynne by comparing to the Beatles. The Beatles redefined music in their own way, but it was the trend of rock n roll. Don't get me wrong. I like and respect the Beatles. But Jeff Lynne was a force in himself.

  • No doubt. ELO is far superior to The Beatles. Beatles get boring after a few listens. Not so for Jeff Lynne and ELO.

  • and yet, ELO aren't in the rock n roll hall of fame.... its ridiculous.

  • pipi

  • I don't know what people are talking about, I'm confused. WHy do people say that ELO is a comparison between The Beatles, and that they are best friends. Well I'm good with The Beatles and Elo as long as it's not The Jonas Brothers with The Beatles. How are The Beatles and ELO alike? I just recently discovered ELO and I like their music, but I quite can't find that comparison-mmm maybe a litlle, I don't know for sure.

  • The comparison has always irritated me as well and it's based more on predjudice than fact. The original ELO project was trying to pick up on a Beatles theme. Of that there is never any question; Jeff Lynne is a massive Beatles fan and he name checks and references them occasionally. And I think you hear a beatles influence sometimes - esp his later work. But mostly they were sneered at in the day because of their popularity and the Beatles thing became a popular sneer amongst some types

  • Beatles ref in this song: "running down the avenue Puff Puff Puff" = Beatles' Day in the Life "...looking up, I noticed I was running late Puff Puff Puff"

  • You're right, sir. The Beatles did redefined music their music, but I quite can't get that comparison between The Beatles and ELO. I mean I recently disovered this band (ELO), and I liuke theiur music. I try to avoid listening to their songs a lot because I'm afraid I might get tired of the songs. What's this comparison between them?

  • First of all, I'm a girl. Secondly, people compare them because they were big around the same time period, both were British bands, and they both were really edgy rock n roll bands who pushed their limits. In terms of sound, the comparison is not huge. They wrote intense but still catchy lyrics, and they both had the same time period of rock n roll kind of sound. But there is no real comparison in sound. ELO's music was just, bigger, for lack of a better word. Not in popularity, but in....

  • size of sound. (Hence O in ELO) The music, even without the lyrics pushed further than other bands have gone. People who compare them to the Beatles just don't have the time and passion for music it takes to really appreciate it. The Beatles emphasized catchy repetitiveness for the first several albums before they started toying with boundaries, whereas ELO just kind of started out that way. Hope that helps. Thanks to my dad, I've been listening to them for a long time and still not tired of it.

  • I'm sorry for being stereotypical sexist, girls count too. Well both their music are good, but I still can't compare them. The Rolling Stones and The Beatles are more in-comparison. Never compare The Jonas Brothers with The Beatles, I'll tell you that. Anyways I didn't know you liked The Beatles, ma'am do you?

  • it's hard to write a song that isnt a beatles rip-off in some way

  • elo rock and roll :)

  • that doesn't have the intro

  • A LOT OF THAKS MY FAVE SONG

  • A lot of thaks

  • my all time fave song i love it!!!!! thank for posting it master:)
