When this song was written many years ago, it shows that humans didn't learn the torment and pain, due to pathetic political wars.

I hope all soldiers come home from no matter where they are from, and politicans learn people are not idiots and songs like this only take 2mins to show how much people care about each other.

Consider: when this was performed, the Soviets were obliged to leave Afghanistan, Eastern Europe (including Berlin, where this was filmed....and came home to find their country....vanished!

Fast forward a couple of decades: here we are....the USA has replaced the USSR, and added Iraq to the list of occupied countries....when the USA is obliged to leave these countries (don't doubt for a moment it will be, sooner or later....to what country will US military return to? We shall see...
