Hey. Do you know if apt-get works on this? I have a TouchPad, but I'd like to make sure that the LaTeX editor/compiler Kile works before I void my warranty and put Chroot on there.
If you check the WebOS forums, this seems to be an important requirement for people who bought a TouchPad in the firesale. Would it be possible for you to check this?
Sample commands are here:
unc.edu/~monogan/computing/linux/index.htm
You can easily just 'sudo apt-get remove' afterwards.
@Sdakouls3 I am sure it will I used the apt-get commands all the time, but I removed chroot and have upgraded to native ;) its worth the switch --sorry I think the command will work though
One other question? Is it worth going for the native install at this (what feels to be) early stage? I remember reading somewhere that there were wireless/bluetooth issues, as well as a whole bunch of other issues. Do you know if this is true?
I'm definitely going to install native Ubuntu (WebOS is nice, but lacks the functionality I require), but I'm apprehensive about giving up disk space to a buggy alpha and might wait for a while first.
@Sdakouls3 Good question yes I believe it is worth getting native. There are wifi issues but stay tuned CalcProgrammer1's videos he will make one on instaling native with wifi
