  • I finally saw the movie today! So now i can watch your review! The bad guy was kinda lame, but maybe he was consumed with rage so he didn't think about changing the future... I wish Scotty was in the movie more... the actor did a good job on his role.

  • Jar Jar Abfucks sucked in every point...

  • All I can hope for is all the missing intelligence that fans were looking for will be present in a next film. Now that we got the origins all over with

  • :3

Glad to see a fellow optimist. lol. My concern for the next one is how can they capture the technological wonder of the original Star Trek 50 years later, when mostly everything wonderful about it has manifested in the real world. Plus, we aren't exactly the same country we were in the middle of the Civil Rights Era, so do we need more heavy-handed messages about racism, sexism and intolerance?

  • I love Star Trek movies but I have gotten used to all of the villians being bland. The only Star Trek Villian that had real puch in my opinion was the late great Ricardo Montoblan's Khan in "Wrath of Khan" I don't count the Borg because their not really human though that Brog queen was pretty darn close. So I expected the Romulin guy to be a bit of a bore. I give the movie 3 stars like Jose.

  • is it just me, or does Jose look more like an Elliott and Elliott look more like a Jose?

  • Im sorry but the guy with the glasses argument about Nero's revenge is weak.

  • Ummm...we are both wearing glasses or was that a witty comment about how you think we are both wrong? :)

    J.

  • Lol. Sorry. I just realized that the guy on the left had glasses also.

  • SPACE SEED for the next film!-- you jaz it up and take the essence of the episode and make it epic.

Imagine a young Khan in ST2 ...it would be like the Heath Ledger Joker in BM2

  • movie was stupid.

    awesome but stupid

  • The IDW prequel comic was very good but the bottom line is NERO is a 1 note villian. after 25 yrs of being stuck in the past he does nothing but..well nothing.

INSANELY AWSOME MOVIE. but nero was just a Darth Maul. cool but pointless character.

  • Totally agree with you mason.

    J.

  • Your ideal STrek would have been boring, E. Serious. Especially this time of year. What are you thinking?

. . . 25 years on the ship, 150 years in the past. Yeh, let's totally be rational and logical. They would believe him why? Eh not going to go into details.

  • I am going to go see this again today and give my rull review on it.

  • Haha, Elliott you liked it but gave it 2 1/2? Somebody's tough to please!

  • 2 1/2 stars is still good. Again, I'm just accustomed to Star Trek being more than just a bunch of space battles and fist fights, but the film was very entertaining nonetheless.

    Elliott

  • Man I loved this new Star Trek so much, and I'm a big time trek fan. It was really a thrill ride and I can't wait to see it again. I actually liked Nero but

    SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought his death scene was kind of lackluster.

  • 3 1/2 stars. No question.

    I agree on Nero, BUT...

I think JJ Abrams was scared shitless to get too deep!! Thats what fucking killed Star Trek among the casual fan.

I noticed he never stayed on one character too long and had no over-arching theme, he kept the action moving. Thus...

I liked it (I'm in my 30's) + My parents liked it (They're in their 60's) = Box Office Success

  • i like it a lot but i also had a lot of problems

thank you elliot for pointing out of about kirk hanging off all those precipices ppl i went with didnt even notice lol

the strength of this movie is the charm of the crew .. the cast does a great job and the tension between kirk and spock powers the movie after that is magically resolved i felt it lost a lot of steam for all the reasons you guys said about nero.

i though uruha and the actress that played her made a big splash

  • This movie rocked

  • I stopped it at the spoiler break, but had to register my notice of the disappearing mustache.

  • In good ole Illinois we call it "rockin the Abe Lincoln." Party on dudes!!!

    J.

  • Nero didn't strike me as a rational person. He seemed totally insane...bent on anarchy and revenge...and watching his home planet get destroyed seems like enough to me to put him over the top.

  • Ya, I agree with that friendlydiplomat. That's what I was kinda trying to explain to Elliot but he wasn't having any of it.

    J.

  • There were Nero issues, but if you think about it Nero had lost his wife and planet and even if he were to change events he could never be with his wife again, he'd be stuck alone in this alternate reality. He did have proper motivation for wanting to punish Spock

  • Just my '''luck''', i happen 2 catch u guys, b4 turning in 4 the night. l was actually on the fence about whether or not 2 see this flick, but after listening 2 your reviews, that cinches it, i'm definitely still on the fence. .....G'night fellas : )

  • I'm glad we could be of absolutely no help to ya pmknight. We get that a lot. :)

    J.

  • im not a star trek fan but seeing this movie did get me interested in it.
