  • I think Evil is what destroys most peoples faith. I have noticed the ones that belive the most in God are the ones who have full heathy and good lives.

What about people who are young kids or in there 20s and are born with nerological genetics diseases like Louh gehrigs disease. Terrible tragic. I dont know how someone could be happy with God if they knew he could help them but did nothing in there suffering.

  • @LiveFreeOrDie1985 "I have noticed the ones that belive the most in God are the ones who have full heathy and good lives." I for one can say that is false. There are many Christians who are disabled and who suffer in fact it is their hope and trust in God that gets them through. I have suffered through the loss of both of my parents and it was the hope and trust in God that got me through, and continues to get me through.

  • "I don't know how someone could be happy with God if they knew he could help them but did nothing in there suffering." What If God had a reason for suffering?

  • @TrueTaike What if your father could help you. Yet he let you suffer from a horrible painful disease and did nothing. Christians like to use suffering for character development. Imagine if a school counseler said I want to inject you with this virus so I can teach you some valuable lessons. You would think that school counseler was crazy. They would be arrested.

  • @LiveFreeOrDie1985 "Christians like to use suffering for character development. Christians like to use suffering for character development. " we do cause its a reason that makes sense. "You would think that school counseler was crazy." We aren't talking about a counselor, we are talking about the God that created everything, understands and knows everything, who suffered pain himself on the cross so that we might have a chance for a pain/suffering free life.

  • God doesnt intervene, its us people that can intervene to help. We are Gods, if we all only knew it. Seek within you and you shall find!!

  • We are all Gods as we can solve the worlds problems ourselves if we all worked together in harmony.

  • what makes more sense..that god exists and allows suffering, or that god doesn't exist and suffering is just a natural part of a reality that neither loves us nor hates us?..we look at how brutal and indifferent nature is, so, we invent a god that's transcendent of nature..something that does care and love..but, it seems to me the only love that exists is the love humanity gives and gets..most can't accept this..they need the idea of a god so they don't feel so isolated.

  • I'm a believer in Ecclesiastes as well.

  • I'm from Colombia. How happy i was to hear Bart Ehrman cite this tragedy we had a couple of decades ago. It was the tragedy of 'Armero', the name of the small town that got erased from the map overnight, when a nearby volcano erupted and a mudslide just buried the town in five minutes.

  • What an excellent message the best I've heard. I used to be a christan at one time. Many have said if there was a god its not one that cares about people and church is being a part of something and that they say you can't really know GOD. Like it was said in the video and I have read the bible ecclisiastes is a great book and mentions all is vanity get the most out of life while there is time.
