  • That rider is a boss. He doesn't flip out or use force, just calmy walks with the horse until it works out its own issues, haha. Stunning horse and massive props to the trainer :)

  • hes huge x.x

  • YOU HAVE MY RESPECT. YOU ARE REALLY A REAL HORSE TRAINER.... GREAT JOB! GOOD HORSEMANSHIP AND A VERY BEAUTIFUL HORSE.

  • @fehr2005 Thank you....:) I will tell Jean Luc....

  • mustang sally ridem

  • My true respect for this trainers courage and competence - a most valueable video! But it would be very interesting to learn how well the reeducation of the horse went and in what state the horse is now. Could we get an update? Thanks for sharing this with us!

  • @ebkern Chazot (the horse) is in GA and doing wonderful! No rears to follow his story go to scienceofmotion com articles and photos as well as podcasts on him..He no longer rears under saddle and is incredible athlete...wonderful mind..gentle kind...

  • Real horsemanship, a rare thing today.

  • I am amazed at this trainer for being able to deal with such a bad rearing and kicking habit! It takes a lot of courage, confidence and knowledge to be able to handle a horse with dangerous vices and actually fix them!

  • I'd really would like to see this horse now in 2012! :D

  • @enanndeer at scienceofmotion com go to photo blog to see latest photos of Chazot and Jean Luc.

  • Amazing!! If my horse would have done that I am shameful to say I wouldn't have been so calm. She would be in a massive amount of trouble. Haha!! My grandpa used to fill a peice of hose with sand and cap off the ends and then when they rear he'd smack their pole. I think thats cruel, but according to him it never failed. Silly old cowboys. :D

  • @hayleeschannel As you say silly cowboy trick

  • We need more calm, knowing equine trainers in the world like you.

  • @Onaziz Thank you...yes we do..Jean Luc travels worldwide working with trainers, riders and horses. As well horses are sent to our farm for JLC to reeducate.

  • does or did he bite? i have lived with horses for a long time and i understand he and you but i am very scraed of getting biting when i was just 1 years old my uncles horse tokk me bye his teeth and swin me around!?

  • @JustinDrewBelover no he does not bite..sorry you had a bad experience with a horse!

  • beautiful madness

  • why did he get into the habit of rearing and kicking out? he's so beautiful, has an amazing brave trainer aswell :) i love how he's not rough with him

  • @charlieboy1091 His rearing was a protective response and habit from racetrack...we worked with his intelligence and he does not rear now and is an incredible athlete...He is one of the Genius of equine world...Jean Luc Cornille is the rider and trainer.

  • I applaud your character and tenacity. Need more like you in the equine world. Beautiful horse.

  • ääm.. groß? :D

  • How is this horse doing now? and wow, seeing this really reminds me of why I love spending time around horses everyone else thinks are just trouble...

  • beautiful horse <3

  • i seriously applaud this man. you don't see too many people out in the world handling rearing horses that at any second could come crashing down at their head. you can clearly see this man knows what he is doing and notice he doesn't get mad at the horse. he tries to reinsure it and tell him that "hey i'll let you go and do your thing" kind of like a compromise. he doesn't smack the horse or yell at it or yank on the reins. i have much to learn from this man. thank youfor the video!

  • @slee041696 I feel same!

  • I admire you persistence and determination to help Chazot.

  • One beautiful horse! A shame bout the rearing, he obviously thinks he´s a pegasus.

  • think this one even beats ed the naughty pony. lol

  • hi,

    It's a beatiful video... love it <3

can you please tell me how to make the horse rear???

    Thanks

  • @PowerTradermylove we do not teach a horse to rear..this was a problem which no longer exists for this horse.

  • What a beautiful horse - and what an amazing rider! Magnificent! And the music was so right! Brilliant!

Loved it! I'd have bailed out - if I'd had the guts to get on in the first place! Beautiful!

  • I have never seen a horse act this way in the ground. Not this bad atleast. Seems like a handful lol

  • Wow this is one of the beautiest horses i've ever seen!

    And what an amazing rider!

Just as the man who's walking next to the horse. He's so calm when the horse is rearing or kicking. I would be so scared when i was that man.

    A-MA-ZING

  • Man, I love how this guy holds his composure no matter what. I'd be running away....fast.

  • wow thats a crazy horse but wow thats an amazing rider!

  • Has he been gelded? Is he your only horse? If he isn't, and there is a mare somewhere within a quarter mile, and he isn't gelded, you should consider it. My now-gelding, made 4 mares pregnant in a little under 2 years. He is 4 now. The foals were cute though!!!

  • @Dandyizbeast Chazot is a gelding...he just has strong opinions..:) He has a gelding friend in stall and pasture to him...(he cannot be with other horses as he is running them etc....

  • wow how many hands tall is this horse??

  • @EvilGod12 Chazot is 18.1 hands

  • i wanna open my own riding school when i move to australia in 2 years cause its been my dream

  • Jean Luc is an amazing rider and educator. I have hosted clinics with him twice now, and plan to continue for as long as Jean Luc will travel. I have met many trainers, most of which I would not let touch my own expressive and sensitive horse. The knowledge Jean Luc has shared with me is priceless. Jean Luc - God bless your desire to help people understand horses - we can either hurt them or help them; the choice is ours.

  • That man must have balls of steel!!!

  • whenever he bucks its this huge side kick!!

  • I took lessons for 3 ears. the last horse was Zeus. He would bite everyone and kick them, expect for me. I was patient and caring and he never did anything to me. I loved him from the first time i saw him, but i approached him with great fear. still he allowed me to do anything. I wish I could have done more for him. Being as fearless as you are with that horse and as patient, I probably could have worked with him better. When he was sold i quit. wish he found someone like you to look after him.

  • Hi! If you are a horse trainer, you are great at what you do. If that is you horse and you are not a trainer, you have no fear. I love this video. Hope you do good with that horse. My mom and I watched it and it must be in the South. Bye :-)

  • @MegaBentleyLover The rider is Jean Luc Cornille a world re known trainer and author his site is scienceofmotion com He lectures and gives clinics as well author of books and DVD's.

  • I love the surrounings you're training in, nyuuu... so pretty. Of course Chazot is too ^^ But I just noticed the foresty background and stuff.

  • this is very cool you do this without worry i think you are very confident in training

  • *_*

Aren't you scarred? You stand very close to him when he starts doing that *_*

  • This proves that the people who think they have to"punish" their horses when they rear/buck are wrong :) Great horse and rider/trainer.

  • I'm confused why you're holding the lead rope and reins up by his withers? Why not hold them under his chin like normal? Any special reason?? :)

  • @GainingBananas Chazot is being worked with JLC in hand technique. more on this on our site scienceofmotion com In the first few you see him with halter and lead rope was first day on third day added his bridle...we take our time with these guys...and it pays off in end with a happy spirited in tack partner

  • What happened to him to make him like this? he's a gorgeous dressage horse. Respect to you for working so well with him. he's beautiful.

  • @jmaritz328 He came from the racetrack...he had pain and fear as well learned to fight....he now with working with his intelligence is proceeding on path of dressage...is amazing athlete..kind heart, gentle one....hard to believe eh? :) Thank you for commenting...also Chazot this horse writes about his life with Jean Luc Cornille on scienceofmotion com

  • @hypasha I will look it up thank you for the information, he looks kind but fearful. I hope to see him in FEI dressage one day.

  • Respect.. i would NEVER sit on this horse... but i think it would be better to ride with a helmet!...

  • wow..he looks kinda scary to ride...but u look like such a good rider!

  • gorgeous horse ! amazing riding skills as well, how he doesn't fall off I do not know, really nice to see someone with such an understanding of horses :)

  • From what I've seen though all these videos, this horse has come on a real load since that...all credit to Jean Luc, he;s wonderful...not in this video, but still...

  • That horse would make an amazing unicorn.

  • @GainingBananas agreed!

  • No HE Jean Luc is not making Chazot rear...

  • I got a question????? Is she trying to get her to rear? Or is the horse just rearing on its on? But, btw that is a pretty horse XD

  • What a beauty! I love how this guy handle this horse, why did he rear and things like that? My english is not that good, I'm from Norway.. Well, my horse knows how to rear on command, but he never use it against me.. I'm glad! Wonderful horse, and I'm glad he's behaving better :)

  • wow this horse is beautiful. very well handled

  • Chazot is doing wonderful with Jean Luc Cornille. He no longer rears under saddle.

Is calm , happy with his spirit intact. He has strong opinions which we like.:) Thank you for commenting...

  • i admire your selfconvidence. i think everyone who watches this video knows that you do your best with him. hes extreme beautiful, but i'm a litlle bit scared by him. i don't know how to describe ;) you're very talented, but i think its always important to wear a helmet, especially when you're working with a horse like him.

how is the work with him now?

    greetings from germany!

  • what a beautiful horse!

but poor too... he is in pain (saw the other video)

but i'm sure you take good care of him ^-^

  • beautiful horse!

but poor too... he is in pain (saw the other video)

but i'm sure you take good care of him ^-^

  • he is beautiful (: !

I would be scared if a horse kicked after me :P

  • A horse that kicks in your direction, isn't a real good thing. I hope it was all due to the pain you talk about in the other movie

  • @Saartjen Chazot does not kick towards us anymore..he has come a long way from his rearing, kicking days..:) He is no longer violent but a trusting partner working extremely well. Staying calm and not using abusive tactics and understanding his problems was the key in his reeducation. His bad memories and his body pain were his problems now resolved. Thank you for your comment...Helyn

  • nice video

  • hello

that horse is really amazing! and he is too beautiful!

i love this video because you can see how powerful he is.

    thank you greatings elise.

  • @elisehorselover Thank you glad you are enjoying....

  • I admire you so much Sir Jean. XXXXXXX from Australia

  • He keeps so calm! Amazing work!

  • What I like the best about all these videos is that the bit is never used as punishment even when on the ground. So many "trainers" these days jerk their horses hard with the bit to punish them. I admires how this trainer stays calm even when the horse is cow kicking inches from hitting him.

  • what's the name of the song? :)

  • Wow! dat trainer did real well to handle him!!is he a stallion?

  • @laurenloveshorses100 Chazot is a gelding

  • crikey, he looks like he knows exactly what he is doing! so balanced in the air! Naughty lad! Lucky he didnt go right over!

  • Hey, I was wondering, was this horse rearing from an abscess in this video? If so, is he OK now?

  • @berriewoodsdabest he is doing fine now,,,,does not rear when riding now..although Chazot is known to 'express" himself in hand at times with pent up energy...being trained by a true master horseman as Jean Luc Cornille is makes all the difference....horse is very sweet kind but a professionals horse.

  • Hello,

I`m from germany and my english is not very good but i`ve some questions.

If your horse is rearing how you could be so cool. My horse is rearing sometimes too. I want to be cool every time but sometimes when he`s rearing it makes me scared. I know it`s wrong to become scared but what should I do?

you are not scared, are you?

What are you doing if you getting scared or coud you give me an advice?

    Thank you for reading.

    Greetings from germany

  • @Ce2On There is nothing wrong to be scare. Rearing is a dangerous thing. Once the horse rear, the best solution is to grab the neck and stay forward in order to do not disturb his balance. However, the real solution is to manage the training and avoid rearing. Try to find the root cause and if you find it either organize your training session to avoid the problem or give to the horse the gymnastic needed to resolve the physical cause.

    Have confidence but be careful.

    Jean Luc

  • oo, really big horse o.o

  • Dear Jean.Well said! It was ignorant of me to make the statement i did. I retract what i wrote and apoligise to the owner. This horse was from a racing stable if i remember? They come with many problems. I have owned a few of them myself! Maybe what i should of said is that this horse seems quite complex and needs a very experienced trainer to further his education. Obviously after looking at other videos of Chazot i have seen that this is the case. Well done Jean Luc Cornille. What a horesman!

  • very well sat, that takes alot of guts to stay calm and focused but bloody hell, 3:30! wear a hat!! horses that throw themselves into the air like that only have the slightest bit of balance between landing back on four feet and landing on you.

  • he's a good reason to wear a hat :-) and he does look so smart at some points when he rears. he could make a great horse for a show. if only on command! :P

  • Possibly a stupid question, but is he trained to rear? Or is this just him......

  • @CravesGreys21 No he is not trained to rear....not a good thing for a horse to do this. He no longer rears with us on him..worked with his intelligence, patience no gimmicks...

  • Poor horse.....totally misunderstood,

  • I had to cut Jean Luc response message into two as it has word cut off...so Jean Luc is the writer (as well as rider on video) He as well trained Margit and has worked his entire life with world class horses. Follow Chazot journey, as he is indeed a great horse.

  • mmmm ..................would not waste my time or money on a horse like that, there are plenty of safe ones out there ................horses like these are best left to people who have the guts to ride them.............this guy seems to be a good trainer.............hope he had success

  • I had the fortune to ride and train world class horses in three day event and jumping. Superior athletes all come with difficulties and very high spirit. They must have a lot of guts to pull a rider out of a triple Grand Prix combination or a difficult question in thee day event. Before been properly guided, their spirit might be difficult to deal with as is Chazot's spirit. Each great horse needs a rider willing to deal with the horse's spirit, or difficult morphology, or bad memories.

  • When Margit Otto Crepin purchased Corlandus, all top dressage riders knew about Corlandus' outstanding potential. Margit was the only one who has the gut to deal with his spirit and the intelligence to adjust her training approach to the horse's complicated morphology. He had sickle hocks. They won the silver medal at the 1988 Seoul Dressage Olympics. Jean Luc Cornille

  • As far as wearing a hat, it is a Personal choice. He has made his choice. You are free to make yours. This man is Jean Luc Cornille google name.

  • Comment removed

  • can i just ask one question ? i can see your great with horses and a great rider, but .. why aren't you wearing a hat?? you've been working with this horse you know what he's capable off one point in this video he almost goes backwards with you on him not saying a hat would save you but it could be difference between life and death if he got you off.

  • @damnitliv I agree, I can't agree more. No disrespect to this trainer - they are clearly experiance and are perfectly capable, but dammit, no matter how good you are, anything can happen! I really believe that everyone should wear the right saftey gear, especially with "problem horses".
