nice federal model 5 in attack(fire)mode. i love those wails, wails+volunteer firefighters=get to the station now, someone's life might be in danger. i don't know why people are complaining and asking for pagers. i heard on a video that the Mt. Gretna volunteer fire department is depending on the siren, because the chief/mayor said, "these pagers are not yet 100% reliable. people that complain about the noise should just think, these volunteers are helping other people out. i love the house siren
I live in Franklin virginia... and i know that at least three of our volunteer fire departments use air raid sirens... they go off when the department needs extra volunteers to assist with a call... scares me sometimes because it sounds just like the nuclear meltdown sirens for Surry Nuclear Plant
In suburban Houston, old fire station sirens are still around, but mostly as monuments (sadly, I know of two that rusted away) having been replaced by nextels and skypagers. I haven't seen a VFD with red lights on their cars in years, either.
awesome job!
